Con un presupposto del calibro di Dirt Rally ci saremmo aspettati un'evoluzione perlomeno allineata a quel modello di guida e di qualità del force feedback. In entrambi i casi Dirt 4 ci ha lasciato un po' con l'amaro in bocca: la versione PS4 non è quel seguito di Dirt Rally su cui speravamo di mettere le mani. Siamo chiaramente tornati nel territorio del simularcade più spostato verso l'arcade che non la simulazione e questo lo si evince da numerosi aspetti. Il primo è la personalità delle vetture di livello leggermente inferiore a quella che si percepiva in Dirt Rally. Il comportamento è più standardizzato a seconda della categoria e delle potenze in gioco: unica eccezione le auto storiche che per le loro caratteristiche, sono denotano da una maneggevolezza del tutto peculiare, in particolare quelle degli anni 70-80'.
