Congratulations to Matt Cresci for winning the 2016 Mazda Road to 24 Shootout, which will award him a $100,000 scholarship to compete in next year's Battery Tender Global Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich Tires!

Matt Cresci - along with some of the other finalists - is an avid member of iRacing, with over 100 virtual races under his belt. His most frequently used car? The Global Mazda MX-5 Cup.

A huge shoutout to Pablo López for competing in the Shootout as a representative of iRacing. All of the drivers were impressed with his skill on track having come from the sim racing world. He leaves the shootout with an experience that will last a lifetime.

iRacer Glenn McGee has been named one of ten finalists to join IndyCar star James Hinchcliffe on Team ROC Factor North America in Miami on January 21-22 to compete against an elite field of race drivers including Sebastian Vettel, Kyle and Kurt Busch, Tom Kristensen and Juan Pablo Montoya in the 28th annual Race of Champions (ROC).   The winner will be chosen based on the results of a public vote on the ROC website (www.raceofchampions.com) and the decision of the ROC jury.
Voting closes January 9 at 1 PM eastern (5 PM GMT).
A standout in the iRacing Mazda MX-5 Cup, McGee earned a spot in the Mazda Road to 24 Shootout and was awarded a $100,000 scholarship to compete in the 2016 Battery Tender Global Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by BF Goodrich Tires.  Driving for Sick Sideways Racing, McGee piloted the iRacing.com Global MX-5 to a slew of top ten finishes and 11th in the season standings in his first season as a professional race driver.
Now iRacers the world over have a chance to put Glenn in the driver’s seat in the Race of Champions . . . and to announce to the racing world at large that sim racing has arrived:  Vote Glenn McGee for Team ROC Factor North America!
Remember voting closes January 9 at 1:00 PM eastern (5 PM GMT).

2017 Race Report: The Mazda iRacing ‘Virtual-2-Reality’ Driver™, Glenn McGee - Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, Global Mazda MX-5 Cup, Rounds 11 & 12

Hard to believe it’s been a year since going from ‘Sim-to-Real’; from the digital-based, iRacing Mazda MX-5 Cup Championship; to the ‘real-world’, Battery Tender Global Mazda MX-5 Cup, presented by BFGoodrich Tires; and thanks to iRacing and my partner’s support, I continue my Pro-Racing career competing in the Mazda Global Challenge (Oct. 12-15) for a $110,000 prize purse [$75,000 to the winner] against some of the best up-n-coming drivers in the world!
