Nice profile page here:

http://rfactor.net/web/2015/05/12/third-party-licensed-palatov-motorsport-d4-now-available/

The car comes with three main configurations: Custom, Track day and Hillclimb. Though there are additional engine and tire options.

The Custom class reflects the options that are available in the real world. This enables potential customers of the real-world car to test various configurations and evaluate the differences. In the sim, we recommend that the Custom class be used with the Turbo I option, to create a car that is similar to the base Track day setup, but with improved performance.

The Track day and Track day Multiplayer are the best classes for the traditional circuits. A perfect balance between performance and stability without excessive power, which gives the opportunity to appreciate the balance of the chassis, tires, and drivetrain.

The Hilclimb configuration is a monster! It has a lot of power for and is lightweight, demanding a lot from the driver. We recommend mastering the Track day setup first. The Hillclimb configuration, as the name suggests, is born to be driven on open circuits like Pikes Peak.

Palatov Motorsport D4

With the help of Mr. Dennis Palatov, owner of Palatov Motorsport, Alessio Contardi (3d models), Nicola Acciarri RFE (Engine Physic, etc.) and in the next weeks I think other persons depending of our needs, I'm working since December 10th 2014 on this unbelievable vehicle, the Palatov Motorsport D4: http://www.palatov.com/cars/d4.html
Several years ago Maher Solution built a rFactor1 version. A lot of things changed and Mr. Palatov enhanced these vehicles, that in the next month(s?) I hope we'll be able to have available for rFactor2!
We are re-modeling the most of the parts by scratch or, in few cases, by the IGES original project files of the real car.

We have planned to release the vehicle in 3 configurations:
- Trackday, strictly equipped like the real car
- Hillclimb, strictly equipped like the real car
- Custom, a "fictional" class that allows every optional part of both the above configurations, to provide real drivers and real potential customers a chance to try the set they wish to buy

And, of course, the structure of the mod will be adapted for the MP experience on rFactor2.
The chance to receive official data by the manufacturer and feedback during the tests is an unique opportunity and I hope to be able to recall the same feeling that you can feel driving these monsters. Monster is the right term for the Hillclimb configuration... the new one that Palatov Motorsport will sell in the next months; believe to me: to tame the Hillclimb will be extremely complex. And to try to drive the Custom version, configured with the same engine of the Hillclimb, but without the optional AWD, will be a challenge!!

Here you can read something more about these vehicles: http://www.dpcars.net/dp4/

Currently the vehicles are running the first laps, the overall structure of the mod is working. In the next weeks we'll focus on the physic for tires, engines, also depending of the tests that in the real life Palatov Motorsport will perform at SearsPoint and Laguna Seca.

Quick update... be patient guys, we are working on several aspects of the car too, like rims and tires look closer to the real ones. Maybe some related to the body... In the meantime finally we are working on physical details due to the latest info we have had with the direct help of the manufacturer and the priceless help of xxx too, but everything takes long time also because we have two different classes with different engines and traction and the comparison of the performances between model and the real D4 running on the same track is not easy. Yes we are also building ORP at the moment only for internal tests!

quick update... beta 0.9.2:
- R DOT and Racing Slick tuned and changed a little the grip (since beta 0.9.1G) to close gap in time between them
- recalculated wear and degradation curves for R DOT and Racing Slick SIM SET only (since beta 0.9.1G), to have a better aggressive level in sim race strategy
- now steering wheel has been harmonized for all classes. Little differences are noticeable for Hillclimb vs. Trackday due to the AWD vs the RWD and it is very good, as well as rF1 vs rF2 system
- focused on Hillclimb class to set the overall performances. Now Hillclimb is drivable nicely! Great back due to the larger rear wing, but not so much understeering like before... Maybe we have still to tune the max speed and brake system

I also hope to start testing the car in the next couple of days here: http://oregonraceway.com/

This is entirely third-party, we just helped test it.

The third-party licensed and produced Palatov D4 has been updated to v1.38. This insane vehicle is one hell of an exciting drive!
Description:
The design goal of the D4 was to put as much power as possible into as small and light a package as possible, while still being able to use it, and still provide a high level of safety. The Hillclimb configuration is the ultimate D4, with over 350hp in a AWD chassis weighing just over 425kg. Even the base Trackday configuration is still potent, with over 170hp, packaged in a car that weighs slightly more than 400kg.
Despite the light weight and small size, the D4 is designed to share the track with much larger cars, and is overbuilt for a car of its weight class.
