samh
I have a request, I don't know how much work this would actually be so feel free to tell me to piss off, but there are some great tracks that could possibly be converted to netkar pro. I just lack the knowledge and skills to do a good job of it myself. If it is no big problem then would someone be kind enough to convert these tracks? They are in Race 07 format but I don't think most of them started that way, so maybe it's easier to use the original?Really I just want Portimao and Bathurst but if it isn't a big job I have some more suggestions that would make great additions to netkar pro...Portimao:http://www.nogripracing.com/details.php?filenr=25979Bathurst 2006:http://www.sendspace.com/file/v7cixaSilverstone 2011:http://www.nogripracing.com/details.php?filenr=34805Assen:http://www.nogripracing.com/details.php?filenr=8828Oulton Park:http://www.nogripracing.com/details.php?filenr=16243(There WAS an Oulton Park out there but apparantly the guy ripped it from iRacing so had to take it down so I can't get hold of it, if anyone could send me this version somehow I would be very grateful!)Rockingham:http://www.nogripracing.com/details.php?filenr=18140Vallelunga:http://www.nogripracing.com/details.php?filenr=8498A huge thank you to anyone who is willing to take on this task! foyol
Hi samh, converting tracks for netKar has a couple of aspects to evaluate: license and work to do (time). As for the latter aspect, once learned the basics, it is only a matter of fine tuning one's work, so if you really want to see things done, I would suggest you to read all the tutorials you find here:http://forum.radiators-champ.com/f14-development-guides As for licensing, are the tracks you are asking allowed to be converted by the original creators? If yes, do they set any restrictions? In the past some guys of the nKPro community asked and obtained the permission to convert tracks - if I remember they were originally from Simbin titles - not sure though - and they were allowed by original creators to distribute them only in an installer checking the Simbin title original CD. The best way to skip licensing problems is to make a track from scratch (it is a long way though).
Guest Uff
(There WAS an Oulton Park out there but apparantly the guy ripped it from iRacing so had to take it down so I can't get hold of it, if anyone could send me this version somehow I would be very grateful!) These kind of requests are not accepted here: we don't want illegal files to be shared in any way, so please don't ask for them. Some of the tracks you've beenasking for have already been illegally converted, so any link posted to them will be immediately removed. Hopefully we'll see them (legally) on Assetto Corsa once it will be released.
samh
Sorry for requesting anything that may be illegal. I'm not trying to rip anyone off I just find this game a lot of fun and some of my favourite tracks aren't available. I'll look into doing it myself. This seems to be a touchy subject, so would I be right in thinking that even creating a track from scratch would be illegal if the creator does not have permission from the owner of the circuit? Or does it just become a problem when the creator tries to make money from it?
Guest Uff
That's always been a matter of discussion. Creating a car or a track without a proper license should be illegal, but usually no one complains unless the author starts to charge for it.
