Cockpit-mounted videos systems, where the simulation’s visual imagery moves naturally with the user, is one of the unique characteristics that helps SimCraft’s APEX3 systems deliver the highest quality simulator experience. The new large screen array increases this experience with users reporting direct real-world training and development benefits. Optimized for three 40-inch screens, the modular system is designed to accommodate screen sizes from 27-inch monitors and up to 46-inch TVs. It is the production version of a prototype design that IndyCar and GrandAm teams put through its paces at Barber Motorsports Park earlier this year. “The flexibility of the new design, coupled with unique benefits of having a large video array move with the cockpit, provides a uniquely natural simulator experience” said SimCraft’s CEO Mark Stiles. He added “We have incorporated all the enhanced simulation benefits that clients experienced in the prototype into a compact field-deployable solution.” Other improvements announced were adjustable rotation points for the roll and pitch axis relative the center of mass, a 5 inch wider cockpit, and an overall lower and more compact chassis. SimCraft also plans to release version 1.5 of it's CraftCon software quite which will include a complete overhaul of it's system update capabilities, new interfaces, and new motion profiling features. The new systems will be demonstrated in association with Porsche at Petit Le Mans, the Grand Am race at Lime Rock park, with STAR Envirotech at the AAPEX show in Las Vegas in November, and Skip Barber Racing School at the PRI show in Orlando in December.
