iRacing: Season 4 Build

The Season 4 build includes two (actually three) of the most eagerly anticipated cars in iRacing history: the Williams-Toyota FW31 and the Mazda MX-5/Roadster. The Williams-Toyota FW 31 is the fastest and most sophisticated racecar ever built by iRacing, while the left hand drive Mazda MX-5 and right hand drive Mazda Roadster are among the world’s most often raced cars, from autocrosses and club racing up to entry level pro series. But there’s more to Season 4 than these exciting new cars. We’ve enhanced the spectator function introduced in Season 3; now, in addition to watching races you’ll be able to “drive” in them as well, albeit in a ghost car - invisible to the real competitors but able to get a close-up view of their driving and, ideally, improving your own driving as a result. We’ll also debut enhanced graphics that deliver more accurate illumination levels, properly calibrated textures and much faster shadows based on shadow map technology. The profile widget now enables you to upload pictures, enter information on personal interests and browse other member’s profiles, while the personal section of the stats pages now include the same information as the profile widget as well as a tab displaying the driving certificates and abilities of those other drivers. F1 2010: patch in arrivo...

Con questo breve comunicato la Codemasters ci segnala che l'attesa patch ufficiale per il recente F1 2010 ha superato la fase di beta testing ed è finalmente pronta: in questo momento si trova nelle mani di Microsoft e Sony per le necessarie autorizzazioni al rilascio, che avverrà presumibilmente nel giro di pochi giorni.

Need for Speed Hot Pursuit: demo disponibile

La Electronic Arts ha rilasciato tramite XBox Live e Playstation Network la versione demo del prossimo Need for Speed Hot Pursuit. La EA ha invece escluso una demo su PC. Ricordiamo che il gioco Criterion sarà disponibile su tutti i formati a partire dal 16 novembre. Trovate direttamente sul forum tutti i dettagli sul come scaricare il file demo.

The Need for Speed Hot Pursuit demo is due out today! In the demo you’ll be able to chase as a cop in the Dark Horse Hot Pursuit event, speeding through the coastal highway and mountainous ridges of Seacrest County. Once you add a friend to their Need for Speed friends list, the second event will unlock called Roadster’s Reborn, where you’ll compete as racers to set the best times. When you download and play the demo you will also earn 500 bounty award points in the full game for both Cop and Racer careers. Need for Speed Autolog is also included in this demo, but as with all new online technology, we expected there would be some bumps in the road with the launch of the demo. Each issue is being addressed with urgency to make sure that it is corrected as quickly as possible.

What was our first programming job?
My first job lasted 2 years, it was in Roma.. and I was doing some terrible "multimedia CD" in visual basic.. it was the "big thing" of the 90s! I resigned to start my own company with a plan to do a race sim .. but I ran out of money straight away after less than 1 year so I took another job doing some 3D stuff in Java (a pain) for almost 2 years. After that I left Italy for England where I got my first REAL job in a serious software company....

Grand Am nuovo partner di iRacing

Con il comunicato che potete leggere integralmente a questo link del forum, il team di iRacing ha annunciato la nuova partnership ufficiale con il campionato americano della Grand Am. Da notare che 11 dei 12 tracciati della stagione 2011 Grand Am sono già disponibili nel simulatore.

iRacing.com's newest partnership with a professional race sanctioning body will debut in 2010 Season 4 with the GRAND-AM iRacing.com Online Sports Car Series. The multi-class series featuring the Riley Mk XX Daytona Prototype and the production-based Ford Mustang FR500S will be sanctioned by GRAND-AM, the road-racing arm of NASCAR, and organized by iRacing.com. The announcement was made today jointly by Kevin Hindson, GRAND-AM Vice President of Marketing and Communications and Kevin Bobbitt, iRacing.com’s director of marketing.

The Formula Fun series will unleash the sensational Williams-Toyota FW31 on alternate days at Lime Rock Park, Mazda Laguna Seca Raceway, the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit and Circuit Park Zandvoort. The left hand drive Mazda MX-5 and right hand drive Mazda Roadster will be the featured attractions in the Mazda Fun Cup at Road Atlanta and the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.
