A new weekly build of Slightly Mad Studios’ WMD-powered Project CARS title is out, introducing a whole new form of motorsport to the quickly-developing simulation.

Alongside plenty of other fixes, improvements and features, the newest build adds the 1990 Caper Stock Car to Project CARS, allowing members to experience some good old fashioned American stock car racing. While Project CARS already offers a wide variety of cars from road-going sports cars to high tech formula machinery, the Caper Stock Car is the perfect toys for those who believe that rubbing is very much a part of good racing. Powered by a mighty V8 engine, the big & heavy stock car provides a very different driving experience compared to the much more nimble and downforce-dependent cars most members are used to. To provide a full field of colorful stock cars to race with, we`ve also kicked off a livery painting contest as everyone is invited to paint up his personal favorite design using the supplied painting template.

Aside from the brand new stock car, Build 197 includes lots of other features and improvements such as:

La SCS Software, che sta già lavorando all'atteso Euro Truck Simulator 2, ci svela oggi il suo progetto segreto: si tratta del nuovo Scania Truck Driving Simulator, un simulatore di camion realizzato chiaramente in stretta collaborazione con la Scania.

The fact that we are working on another truck sim game in addition to ETS2 was one of the worst kept secrets. It was supposed to be under wraps until the very last moment, but such is the life of the games retail market. The publishing and distribution people need to work with retail chains to position any game in the development pipeline way ahead of release, and so the information and speculative release dates kept leaking left and right. So what is this game and why does it even exist when you could argue that we should focus 100% on Euro Truck Simulator 2?

The project is the result of a very productive dialogue we have started with the great guys at Scania CV AB. You could have read our grumbling repeatedly here on this blog about how difficult it is for the company our size to even get noticed by the big guys, be them truck and trailer manufacturers or logistics companies. The "serious" industry too often considers games as something controversial and unimportant anyway, and even marketing departments are usually too conservative and concentrated on traditional media to grasp the idea that the thousands and thousand of people playing truck sims are in fact the ideal audience that they could approach through our game.....

Slightly Mad Studios are proud to announce a licensing deal with Mitsubishi Motors that will allow Project CARS players to experience the iconic Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution in the WMD-powered title. Project CARS will be including three different road-going Lancer Evo models as the Evo VI Tommi Mäkinen Edition, the Evo IX FQ 360 and the Evo X FQ 400 are on their way into the title.
