L'instancabile PiBoSo ha finalmente rilasciato la nuova versione Beta 8 del suo Kart Racing Pro, apprezzatissimo simulatore dedicato al mondo del karting. La nuova release porta con sè svariati bugfix ed alcune migliorie, come ad esempio l'effetto spettacolare delle gocce di pioggia già visto in video, una fisica perfezionata e la nuova e bellissima pista spagnola di Zuera! Il team Simbin annuncia oggi una novità, in arrivo per Pasqua per il suo RaceRoom Racing Experience: si tratta della spettacolare RaceRoom Hillclimb, ovvero una tappa di cronoscalata di fantasia ma ispirata ai nostri paessaggi alpini!

We are happy to let you know that RaceRoom Hillclimb will be available in R3E during Easter. RaceRoom Hillclimb is created in house by our colleague, Johan Friden (Track Artist), so we went to ask him a few questions on what goes into creating this kind of track.

Johan: To begin with we decided where to locate the track and we came up with the idea of locating it in the French mountains. Why the decision fell on the French mountains, was based on the fact that we didn’t have a Hillclimb from France and we simply thought the stages provided there are marvelous to look at and they must be exhilarating to race on. After deciding where to locate the track, we needed references. What kind of terrain did we want? What kind of vegetation? Buildings? etc. Instead of travelling to the Alps, we used Google Street View to get inspirartion of the area.

A questo link è possibile vedere una serie di screen di Assetto Corsa... in 3D! La tecnologia, esplosa nel cinema grazie ad Avatar, non è ancora particolarmente diffusa su PC (principalmente per via dei costi), ma è sicuramente interessante per aumentare l'immersività di guida.

Le immagini possono essere viste sia con i classici occhialini che usavamo da piccoli (quelli con le lenti colorate) per avere come risultato un 3D anaglifico, che con gli appositi occhiali forniti ad esempio nei kit nVidia. In tal caso occorre ovviamente anche avere l'hardware adeguato per visualizzarli.

Piboso ci mostra in un video di anteprima le nuove "gocce di pioggia", effettivamente molto realistiche ed affascinanti, che saranno implementate nella prossima versione Beta 8 del già noto ed apprezzato simulatore Kart Racing Pro.
