Con l'ormai classico messaggio via Facebook, la Kunos Simulazioni inizia a parlarci della prossima build v1.5 prevista per il suo Assetto Corsa. Si comincia con i dettagli riguardanti i circuiti, che, grazie a nuove tecnologie Laserscan, godranno di un bel restyling...

The development of Assetto Corsa began in 2011. Since then, we have vastly improved our modelling techniques – today we have more resources (budget and manpower) and expertise, and the latest laser-scanning technology also allows us to obtain a better and wider scan, offering an opportunity to grab a higher number of objects surrounding the track. Moreover, during the development of Assetto Corsa, we have changed our approach to texturing and track modelling, creating more secondary details and trackside objects and also featuring 3D trees and camera-facing objects and crowds, something that resulted in nicer scenarios and better immersion. However, as a result there is now a visible gap in terms of graphics and details if you compare some of the first and the latest circuits created for Assetto Corsa.
Last year we made some tests with a new laser-scanning device, testing it at our HQ at Vallelunga race track, where we made our preliminary tests in early 2010 in preparation for the Ferrari Virtual Academy videogame. Since our aim is to offer our fans the best of our skills, know-how and quality, we are glad to tell you that we have started the process of optimizing and improving all our existing circuits, including Vallelunga, Nurburgring GP, Mugello, Magione, Imola, Silverstone, Monza, Spa Francorchamps, as well as the Nordschleife. The upgraded versions of these tracks will be available as a free update with build 1.5, currently in development.Thank you very much for your great support!

Con il trailer che vedete qui sotto, il team di iRacing annuncia l'arrivo della nuova monoposto di Formula Renault già nella prossima build di Marzo del simulatore americano. Vi ricordiamo che sempre a Marzo sarà disponibile anche l'Audi R8 LMS GT3 2016.
The Formula Renault 2.0 is slated to release with our next build update in March along with the Audi R8 LMS GT3 car.

Arrivano oggi una serie di nuove immagini e video per DiRT Rally in versione console, il gioco di guida targato Codemasters, già disponibile su PC in formato digitale su Steam dallo scorso dicembre e che arriverà nei negozi anche in versione retail, su PS ed XBox One a partire dal 5 aprile. Il titolo punta ancora allo standard dei 1080p e sessanta fotogrammi al secondo sulle console current-gen, un traguardo ragguardevole, e che la versione PlayStation 4 è "molto, molto vicina" al raggiungimento. Su Xbox One si è invece un po' indietro: il team sta cercando di raggiungere i medesimi risultati, ma in caso contrario potrebbe optare per una risoluzione dinamica, che potrebbe scendere da 1080p a 900p nelle fasi più impegnative. In ogni caso le due versioni saranno sostanzialmente identiche e Codemasters potrebbe addirittura ricorrere a una patch day one per sistemare le performance.

Ad alcuni giorni dall'uscita, il Sebastien Loeb Rally Evo targato Milestone continua a far parlare di sè gli appassionati della derapata virtuale. A tal proposito è molto interessante l'intervista pubblicata dal sito Red Bull, fatta proprio al pluri campione francese ed a Irvin Zonca e Michele Caletti, rispettivamente a capo di design e sviluppo del gioco.

Come si è strutturata la collaborazione?
Loeb è venuto a Milano diverse volte. In altre occasioni eravamo noi a raggiungerlo, o a spedirgli versioni preliminari del gioco. La cosa buona è che fin dall’inizio, anche grazie a un lavoro di preparazione durato mesi, si è partiti da livelli piuttosto elevati in termini di fisica. Non si è mai parlato di difetti macroscopici che non lo soddisfacessero. Abbiamo quindi potuto concentrarci sui dettagli. Un esempio significativo è quanto successo per la Pikes Peak: Sébastien è arrivato, si è seduto in postazione ed è partito come non stesse affrontando un gioco. Ha guidato come farebbe un test driver nella gara.
