</p>

<p>
	Gli appassionati di iRacing sanno ormai da un paio d'anni che gli sviluppatori sono al lavoro su un sistema di intelligenza artificiale anche per il simulatore americano. Quello che viene confermato oggi, grazie ad un commento di Gardner, è che la futura IA sarà dotata anche di un sistema di carriera specifico all'interno di iRacing.
</p>

<p>
	"<em>Sì, posso confermare che siamo decisamente al lavoro sullo sviluppo dell'IA per iRacing. In effetti lo siamo da un paio d'anni </em>", ha dichiarato il direttore esecutivo di iRacing, Tony Gardner.
</p>

<p>
	"<em>Speriamo di rilasciarla prima o poi. Anche se, pur dopo averla rilasciata, proprio come tutto il resto, continueremo a migliorarla, sia l'IA stessa che la modalità / funzionalità di carriera che la circonda. Sembrerà davvero come qualsiasi altra corsa di iRacing, se tutto andrà bene. In effetti, abbiamo già pubblicato molti video che utilizzano l'IA, ma non abbiamo sottolineato che si trattava di IA. Ad esempio, mostrando un nuovo contenuto, come un'auto o una pista...</em>"

			- More consistent placeholder values on dash displays.<br>
			PHYSICS:<br>
			- Wet asphalt water film depth now influences aerodynamics. <br>
			NOTE: you might need to raise your ride height up to 4-5mm to regain the same splitter and diffuser balance and performance on a wet track.<br>
			- General UI setup and MFD tyre pressure logic refactoring. No more automagic for ambient pressures. <br>
			Whatever the ambient temperature, the slicks are now preheated at 70°C and you can input the pressure you want for that preheated temperature. <br>
			Preset setups are already adjusted. Old saved setups will start with very low pressures and you generally need to add 4 to 5 psi extra.<br>
			Simply put a tyre pressure you desire, usually 2psi less than the hot pressure you want, and go.<br>
			- Minimum tyre pressures now at 20.3psi, as per Pirelli document request. Pay attention as the pressure can get lower than that when the tyres get cold without blankets while waiting at the grid start and can easily deflate on kerbs.<br>

			- Improved flat tyres grip, you should now be able to return to pits with a flat tyre.<br>

			- New aggressive Barcelona preset setup for Audi R8 LMS, Mercedes-AMG GT3, Lamborghini Huracán GT3, Bentley Continental GT3 2018, Porsche 991 GT3-R, Ferrari 488 GT3.<br><br>
			MULTIPLAYER &amp; RATINGS:<br>
			- Increased the minimum pre-race time to 80s for public MP, decreased to min 5s for private MP.<br>
			- Small improvement to the MP formation lap, preventing the ability to outrun the leader with good timing.<br>
			- Servers won't spam "late" warnings for event resets.<br>
			- Fixed ghostcar (disconnected car) during MP replay.<br>
			- RC Rating was rewritten and now works again both in SP and MP.<br>
			- RC will start at 0 while the old Elo value is still remembered.<br>
			- Numerous SA Rating improvements. Most changes raise the requirements to gain Trust, so global SA ratings are expected to drop a few points.<br>
			- Fixed a bug where lifting on straights would generate Trust.<br>
			- SA and RC will change at a slower rate for low AI strength (&lt; 90%), while the balance between Trust and OBWP is untouched.<br>
			- Fixed FP2 and Q2 not displayed in server list.<br>
			- Enabled collision bag for both MP and SP. SA penalties should only be applied to cars that are "root" contacts, no OBWPs for being caught in a mass accident.<br>
			- Fixed replay auto save in MP when the weekend changes.<br>
			- Server passwords are now stored.<br>
			- Increased low-latency (LAN servers) ping accuracy, possibly removing jittering. The effects will also improve regular Multiplayer netcode prediction, but won't be as significant.<br>
			- Added DT, 5s, 15s penalties as admin commands.<br>
			- The driver swap info widget is now more compact.<br>
			- Numerous fixes to driver swaps situations.<br>
			- Team names are now visible in MP.<br>
			- Netcode preparation for new pitstop rules, preview instructions will be added in the forum.<br>
			- Server weather configuration now has more weight on the cloud level, configuring high cloud levels drastically improve the chances of rain (when dynamic weather is used).<br>
			- Server weather configuration now uses rain level as a chance for a completely rainy weekend (when dynamic weather is used). Server admins can use both weatherRandomness and rain level to achieve different types of random rain experience.<br>
			- Enabled the collection of new driver statistics.<br>
			- Possible fix for MFD crash in MP when changing pit strategy after a driver swap</em>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	L'11 settembre, al Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA), sono stati <a href="https://www.gran-turismo.com/it/news/00_3877725.html" rel="external">fatti diversi annunci</a> sul legame tra <a href="https://www.drivingitalia.net/index.php?/forums/topic/72229-ps4-annunciato-gran-turismo-sport-per-playstation-4/page/67/&amp;tab=comments#comment-893567" rel="">Gran Turismo </a>e la celebre casa costruttrice di Stoccarda.
</p>

<p>
	Durante l'evento è stata presentata, all'interno di <a href="https://www.drivingitalia.net/index.php?/forums/topic/72229-ps4-annunciato-gran-turismo-sport-per-playstation-4/page/67/&amp;tab=comments#comment-893567" rel="">Gran Turismo Sport</a>, una versione virtuale della Taycan, la prima auto completamente elettrica di Porsche. Nel corso della presentazione a corredo dell'evento, Peter Varga (Head of Exterior Design Style di Porsche) e Kazunori Yamauchi (Produttore della serie Gran Turismo) hanno annunciato che per il 2020 è prevista una Porsche Vision Gran Turismo e che sarà inserita nel gioco anche la 917 Living Legend, modello celebrativo del 50° anniversario della leggendaria Porsche 917.
</p>

<p>
	Ecco tre punti salienti della collaborazione tra Porsche e Gran Turismo
</p>

<p>
	1. La Porsche Taycan Turbo S sarà resa disponibile in "Gran Turismo Sport" a ottobre 2019 come contenuto scaricabile gratuito. Grazie alla stretta collaborazione che i team di sviluppo di Stoccarda e Tokyo hanno portato avanti negli ultimi nove mesi, Porsche e Polyphony Digital Inc. hanno ricreato in gioco non solo una rappresentazione dettagliata degli interni dell'auto con tanto di strumentazione animata, ma anche i suoi suoni caratteristici e le sue prestazioni in pista.
</p>

<p>
	2. In occasione del 50° anniversario della 917, Porsche porterà in Gran Turismo Sport il modello concept "917 Living Legend". Porsche ha vinto per la prima volta la 24 Ore di Le Mans nel 1970 proprio con la 917, una delle auto da corsa più importanti nella storia del marchio. L'integrazione avverrà nella prima metà del 2020.
</p>

<p>
	3. Infine, non in ordine d'importanza, i progettisti Porsche stanno attualmente sviluppando il progetto Porsche Vision Gran Turismo, che verrà tradotto da Polyphony Digital Inc. in un'auto guidabile nel gioco. L'arrivo della Porsche Vision Gran Turismo in Gran Turismo Sport è previsto per la fine del prossimo anno. Con il progetto Porsche Vision Gran Turismo, il team di progettazione Porsche esplora nuovi orizzonti: per la prima volta verrà sviluppato un prototipo virtuale di auto sportiva, non legato alla produzione in serie, che incarnerà l'interpretazione visionaria del DNA del design Porsche.

	Kjell Gruner, Vice-President of Marketing di Porsche AG

<p>
	"Gli sport motoristici fanno parte del nostro DNA e i giochi di corsa rappresentano un'ottima opportunità di raggiungere un pubblico giovane in formato digitale. Questa serie pluripremiata è il partner perfetto per rafforzare ulteriormente il legame di Porsche con i giochi di guida e gli eSport".
</p>

<p>
	Kazunori Yamauchi, Produttore della serie Gran Turismo
</p>

<p>
	"In Gran Turismo Sport è possibile guidare le auto Porsche fin dal 2017. Grazie all'integrazione della Taycan Turbo S e della "917 Living Legend" in "Gran Turismo Sport", e alla creazione del progetto Porsche Vision Gran Turismo, rafforzeremo la nostra collaborazione".<br><br>
	- Sull'inclusione della "Porsche Taycan Turbo S"<br>
	"In Gran Turismo è necessario riprodurre accuratamente non soli gli interni e l'esterno delle auto, ma anche replicare perfettamente i meccanismi delle singole auto e le loro proprietà fisiche. Porsche non utilizza decorazioni superflue: l'anima di Porsche è fatta di linee semplici e pulite, prestazioni, alta qualità e precisione. Dobbiamo replicare alla perfezione in Gran Turismo la raffinata esperienza di guida che offre. Per noi è un lavoro molto emozionante".<br><br>
	- Sul progetto "Vision Gran Turismo" congiunto con Porsche.<br>
	"Vision Gran Turismo è un progetto che prevede la realizzazione, da parte delle case costruttrici, della loro idea di Gran Turismo in piena libertà. In altre parole, è un mio invito agli addetti nel settore. È come se chiedessi loro: "Vi piace ancora progettare auto?" È davvero un grande onore vedere come Porsche, che occupa una posizione forte, unica e insostituibile nella cultura automobilistica, abbia risposto al mio appello dicendo "QUESTA è la Gran Turismo che abbiamo immaginato noi di Porsche". Credo che, anche tra 10-20 anni, la Porsche Vision Gran Turismo sarà considerata un'importante "Merkmal" nella cultura automobilistica".

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Con qualche giorno di ritardo rispetto al solito, a causa del Sim Racing Expo, il team Studio 397 ha pubblicato il consueto Roadmap Update dedicato al suo rFactor 2. Possiamo finalmente ammirare le prime spettacolari immagini della Porsche GT3 Cup in pista! <a href="https://www.drivingitalia.net/index.php?/forums/topic/80136-rfactor-2-roadmap-update-agosto-2019-porsche-cup-in-pista/" rel="">Commenti sul forum dedicato</a>.
</p>

<p>
	<em>Roughly a week later than normal, we bring you the monthly roadmap for August. Obviously we were at the SimRacing Expo last weekend, where we met a lot of you and showed off a pre-release version of the Porsche GT3 Cup car and the Nürburgring. Both are scheduled for a release in roughly two weeks from now, pending final approvals. But we have a lot of other news to share with you too, so let’s get started!</em>
</p>

<p>
	<em><strong>A1 eSport season 2</strong></em>
</p>

<p>
	<em>A1 eSport is back with yet another season, after a great first season. Once again the races will start off with a hotlap session, and then in each weekend following a race. A total of 5 races will be run before heading to the showdown and shootout and finally the finale in late October hosted in Vienna. Just like last season. The big difference here is that now every European can participate, not just German speaking residents. Sign up is open now, first round starts at midnight on the 9th of September. Lets go! If you want to get a glimpse of what you’re getting yourself into, on their website you can see what the last season finale looked like.</em>
</p>

<p>
	<em><strong>Porsche Formula E Competition IAA Frankfurt</strong></em>
</p>

<p>
	<em>In roughly a week from now, the International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt starts again, and on the last day of this huge show we will be collaborating with Porsche to run a full day of Formula E races. The qualifiers for this event have already been decided. Congratulations to the four finalists who will compete against the Porsche Formula E factory drivers on stage! If you are planning in visiting the show and are there on the last Sunday, please drop by and say hi, watch the show and have a go yourself.</em>
</p>

<p>
	<em><strong>World’s Fastest Gamer 2</strong></em>
</p>

<p>
	<em>Qualifiers for rFactor 2 have been run and if you have not seen the final race, check it out below. Erhan Jajovski won the race in great style and we wish him all the best in the finals later this year. Although at this point little is known yet about these finals, we are confident that these will be something very special, so watch this space and the WFG2 site for more information.</em>
</p>

	</div>
</div>

<p>
	<em><strong>Code Updates</strong></em>
</p>

<p>
	<em>After the first technical update last month, we have now released another one that addresses the “leave lags” that people were experiencing in some circumstances. Specifically when someone with a car with non-standard upgrades left the server, this would cause a lag that propagated to all other clients. Our latest update fixes that. Next on our list are some smaller usability issues. We are also still analyzing any freezes that specific clients are having.</em>
</p>

<p>
	<em>The rest of our development team is working hard on finishing the UI we previewed at the SimRacing Expo. If you missed our live broadcast on Twitch on Sunday, check it out below.</em>
</p>

<div class="ipsEmbeddedOther" contenteditable="false">
	<iframe allowfullscreen="" height="450" src="https://player.twitch.tv/?video=v475302804&amp;autoplay=false" width="300"></iframe>
</div>

<p>
	<em>We want to thank everybody for providing a lot of comments on this new UI. Just to clarify where we are with this. Our first release is a starting point for many more tweaks and improvements, so if you don’t see your favorite improvement yet, don’t worry, things will evolve!</em>
</p>

<p>
	<em>With the new UI, we are also going to release the first version of our competition system, and although we did not demo any of that in the video we did at the SimRacing Expo, we will start showing it in the weeks to come.</em>
</p>

<p>
	<em>Our graphics developers in the meantime are working on some more fundamental changes to the lighting and the way our shaders work. The move to PBR triggered a few other issues that we are fixing right now and at the same time we are improving how our shaders work, by streamlining the number of different shaders we have and making new ones that can be customized a lot more by artists. Once these things are done, we are continuing our work on cockpit shaders. Prototypes for that were very encouraging.</em>
</p>

<p>
	<em><strong>Content</strong></em>
</p>

<p>
	<em>For those of you who could not attend the SimRacing Expo we have some more shots of the Porsche GT3 Cup car. The car is officially still a “Work In Progress” but as you can see, it’s coming along nicely. Obviously we are already planning new content beyond the things that will be in your hands in a few more weeks, but we’ll save that for another roadmap.</em>
</p>

<p>
	<em>That’s all for this month. We’ll be back in roughly three weeks with next month’s roadmap which will be back on schedule. In the meantime we would like to wish everybody a lot of fun simracing, and stay safe!</em>
</p>

	<em>Last weekend I got a chance to drive the Nordschliefe with an instructor from RSR Events. So I thought the contrast between how the ring feels in a racing sim and in reality would make an interesting topic for a video. So, here are my experiences of the Nurburgring, contrasted with footage form Assetto Corsa.</em>

	La Fanatec ha rilasciato la<a href="https://www.fanatec.com/eu-en/wheel-base-accessories/fanalab-1.html" rel="external"> prima versione beta</a> della sua nuova <a href="https://www.drivingitalia.net/index.php?/forums/topic/80130-fanalab-software-utility-by-fanatec-per-tutti-i-volanti/" rel="">software utility denominata FanaLab</a>. Si tratta di un programma molto potente ed allo stesso tempo di semplice utilizzo che permette di personalizzare praticamente ogni tipo di parametro dei volanti della casa tedesca: force feedback dinamico, menu, display, vibrazioni e molto altro ancora.
</p>

<p>
	FanaLab è compatibile con tutti i volanti della linea Podium, i ClubSport ed i CSL Elite. <a href="https://www.drivingitalia.net/index.php?/forums/topic/80130-fanalab-software-utility-by-fanatec-per-tutti-i-volanti/" rel="">Commenti e discussioni nel topic del forum dedicato</a>.

		<p>
			FanaLab is our new PC software that allows fine-tuning of Fanatec hardware settings and features. We originally designed this software for the Podium Series wheel bases, but as the development scope has grown, it now alsofully  supports the ClubSport Wheel Base V2.5 and CSL Elite Wheel Base +, as well as improving display functionality on all Fanatec steering wheels, plus improved control over vibration motors in compatible wheels and pedals. The CSL Wheel Base, CSL Elite Wheel Base V1.1 and the ClubSport Wheel Base V2 are compatible as well but with limited functionality as the Tuning menu cannot be synced. We are working on improving the compatibility of at least the CSL Elite Wheel Base V1.1 as this can be fixed by firmware.
		</p>

		<p>
			With this new software, you’ll have another means of adjusting Tuning Menu values on-the-fly, with a wider overview of the settings compared to the wheel displays. You can save as many profiles as you like, and create an unlimited number of Tuning Menu presets. These can be assigned to automatically load when you launch your favourite sim from FanaLab, and you can export and share your best profiles with your friends.
		</p>

		<p>
			We’ve also enabled new dynamic FFB effects driven by car telemetry data. At this stage, we’re including a speed-sensitive damper and an additional damper for driving in reverse, with more dynamic features to come, for example front suspension effects, countersteer effect, and Dynamic Force Enhancement. The speed-sensitive damper is useful for taming high-speed oscillation without needing to add too much ‘natural’ damper or friction, meaning that you can have a very active wheel at low speeds, and a stable one at high speeds.
		</p>

		<p>
			In addition, display functionality has improved on all wheels, as FanaLab allows you to select what available telemetry data is shown, and the order of priority. The activation point for all RevLEDs can also be changed, and the new RGB RevLEDs and FlagLEDs allow for custom colours.
		</p>

		<p>
			FanaLab is <a href="https://www.fanatec.com/eu-en/wheel-base-accessories/fanalab-1.html" rel="external">now available for free</a>

		<p>
			Vivi tutte le emozioni di un vero pilota WRC<br>
			Come videogioco ufficiale del World Rally Championship, WRC 8 ritorna con un focus ancor più deciso sulla simulazione e pone i giocatori nel cuore delle intense corse di rally. Il realismo è stato portato completamente ad un nuovo livello grazie alla fisica delle auto e delle superfici rivista totalmente, e grazie al clima dinamico che introduce condizioni atmosferiche diverse per ogni paese. I giocatori dovranno adattare la propria guida al terreno e al clima per guadagnare preziosi secondi che potranno risultare decisivi.
		</p>

		<p>
			Tantissimi contenuti<br>
			Con 52 team di rally, 100 prove speciali suddivise in 14 paesi, a alcune delle auto leggendarie più importanti della storia della WRC, WRC 8 sarà la più completa simulazione di rally mai creata. La modalità Carriera è stata riprogettata da zero per dare ancor più immersione al giocatore, che potrà indossare i panni di un vero pilota professionista e competere nelle varie categorie per diventare finalmente campione. Come parte integrante del team, il giocatore dovrà pianificare il calendario, gestire la sua crew, reclutare nuovi membri e sviluppare le migliori strategie per vincere.
		</p>

		<p>
			Sviluppato in collaborazione con i veri professionisti<br>
			Dopo aver lavorato fianco a fianco con ingegneri e meccanici dei team ufficiali, gli sviluppatori di KT Racing hanno condotto alcuni delicati test con giocatori esport e piloti professionisti tra i più importanti nel panorama internazionale, così da raggiungere l’expertise necessario a creare la migliore e autentica simulazione di rally possibile.
		</p>

		<p>
			La eSport WRC competition nel cuore dell’esperienza WRC<br>
			I 9 finalisti mondiali dell’edizione 2019 di eSports WRC powered by Hyundai sono ora qualificati. Si affronteranno su WRC 8 ad inizio ottobre durante il Rally del Galles in un evento in due giorni al WRC Service Park di Llandudno. Il vincitore dell’edizione 2019 di eSports WRC powered by Hyundai si porterà a casa un’auto – la nuovissima Hyundai i20. Nel 2020, La eSport WRC competition tornerà, ma prima che parta il nuovo anno di competizione, ci saranno sfide settimanali per i giocatori che vogliono testare le proprie skill, dato che la corsa alle finali mondiali del 2020 inizierà duranti il Rally di Monte-Carlo a gennaio.
