Logitech G25 PAD: pedali in libertà

La Heusinkveld Engineering ha ideato un accessorio per la pedaliera del noto volante Logitech G25, molto semplice ma al tempo stesso decisamente utile: uno dei problemi più comuni che si possono avere con i pedali è infatti quello di averli troppo vicini fra loro, rischiando di utilizzarli assieme anche non volendo, soprattutto se si ha un piede di grande misura. Il PAD quindi, per meno di 30 euro, ci offre un set di nuovi pedali in metallo, differenziati, che è possibile montare a piacimento in assoluta libertà!

A volte capita che un bravo pilota virtuale sia purtroppo disabile e quindi abbia grossi problemi per manovrare i pedali di gas e freno. Ecco arrivare oggi quella che potrebbe essere una soluzione interessante: la Hands Wheel Bar creata dalla Accessible Racing è in pratica una barra azionabile con la mano che sostituisce completamente i due pedali, spingendola si frena, mentre tirandola verso di sè si accelera. Il concetto è simile al sistema sofisticato usato dal simpatico Alex Zanardi sulla sua BMW del WTCC.

La Clubsport Pedals si aggiorna

La tedesca Fanatec ha rilasciato oggi un aggiornamento relativo ai driver della recente Clubsport Pedals USB: il nuovo firmware update, da poco più di 500Kb, permette finalmente di regolare la zona morta del pedale del freno e di settare al meglio il relativo potenziometro del pedale.

La nuovissima pedaliera Clubsport Pedal della Fanatec sembra avere qualche problemino di gioventù, ma l'azienda tedesca è corsa subito ai ripari per aiutare gli utenti in difficoltà: ecco infatti un utilissimo video di spiegazioni su come fare a smontare e rimontare correttamente l'hardware, oltre che cambiare il lubrificante o fare modifiche di taratura. E' inoltre disponibile una nuova versione dei driver aggiornati.

I due nuovi prodotti hardware disponibili soprattutto all'estero rilasciati dalla tedesca Fanatec in questi giorni, ovvero il volante Porsche 911 GT3 RS e la pedaliera Clubsport Pedals, stanno risquotendo un notevole successo fra gli appassionati ed anche alcune critiche per qualche bugs di troppo: vi consigliamo quindi di non perdere questa completa e dettagliata recensione in inglese dedicata ad entrambe, da leggere in un comodo file PDF. The Porsche GT3 RS Clubsport wheel is an awesome wheel providing superb force feedback and a wealth of buttons on the wheel. The Clubsport pedals are solid, they feel great and have more options to modify to them your liking than you could ever have dreamed of. Without a doubt this is the best force feedback wheel on the market to date, period. The price is accordingly, however, especially if you want to have the shifter set as well, because that doesn’t come standard with the wheel as with the Logitech G25.

FREX SimSYNCHRO in arrivo

La giapponese FREX GP, azienda già molto nota per i suoi prodotti professionali dedicati alla guida virtuale (vedi l'ultimo FREX Wheel con force feedback), ha iniziato a parlare oggi del suo nuovo SimSYNCHRO: si tratta in pratica di un accessorio che blocca realisticamente l'utilizzo del cambio ad H se non viene premuto il pedale della frizione.

Nuovi driver Fanatec

La tedesca Fanatec ha rilasciato oggi la nuova versione aggiornata (ancora beta) dei suoi driver per tutti i volanti Porsche: l'attuale release 0.88, oltre a correggere alcuni piccoli bugs, presenta una routine di installazione completamente nuova ed è disponibile anche per Vista a 64 bit.

We finally have a certified driver for Vista 64 for all Porsche wheels and the CSP. Please have a look at the attached beta version and let me know if everything works fine. We also changed the installation routine of the 32 bit driver completely. There are still some minor things to fix like wrong logos etc but the driver should run stable already.

Porsche 911GT3 e Clubsport Pedals in spedizione

La tedesca Fanatec ha confermato oggi di aver finalmente iniziato le spedizioni dei suoi due nuovi ed attesi prodotti: il volante Porsche 911 GT3 RS e la Clubsport Pedals, quindi tutti coloro che li hanno già ordinati da tempo li riceveranno nei prossimi giorni.

After going through customs for about ten days in the US we are happy to announce that the wheels and pedals are on the way to customers. Tomorrow the first wheels will arrive depending on where the customer is located. We ship from California and Germany. The final driver is unfortantly still not ready yet but in the meantime you can use the driver of the Porsche 911 Turbo wheel or the Beta version from this blog.

Nuovi driver Fanatec con Drift Mode

La tedesca Fanatec ha rilasciato oggi una nuova versione beta (la 0.86) dei driver per tutti i suoi volanti brandizzati "Porsche". La principale novità apportata da questi driver, particolarmente interessante, è l'implementazione via software della modalità Drift Mode, qui di seguito spiegata in dettaglio:

We are proud to introduce a new feature in our driver: The Drift Mode. The Drift Mode reduces the overal resistance of the wheel and let you turn the wheel more easy. It almost works like a power steering. It reduces the basic dampeing of the wheel. You can adjust several values and we are still experimenting a bit with the values so you have a lot of choice in the attached Beta version of the driver. At the moment we only have a 32 bit version but once this feature is settled we will release a certified 64 bit version. Please note that I recommend to turn on the "dampening strength" now as this just controls the signals sent from the game. For example if you drive through muddy water.
