Si svolge tra venerdi 16 e sabato 17 prossimi l'ultimo round del campionato F1 Esports Series ufficiale della Formula 1, con l'utilizzo dell'apprezzato F1 2018 targato Codemasters. Come spiegato in dettaglio qui di seguito, sarà possibile seguire in diretta streaming (anche qui sotto), le ultime due gare online del Texas e Yas Marina.

Epic. That’s really the only way to describe the competition and action seen so far in the F1 New Balance Esports Pro Series 2018. And yet, like all good things, it must come to an end. That’s where the third and final live event comes in… We still have four races to run, and two championships to decide at London’s GFinity Esports Arena on Friday 16th and Saturday 17th November, with nine teams and a 26-strong roster of drivers once again ready to do battle on F1 2018, the official F1 video game developed by Codemasters.

THE CHALLENGE AHEAD

The final quartet of races are split evenly across two days, with the seventh race of the championship– around Hockenheim Circuit – taking place on Friday, followed by race eight around Marina Bay Street Circuit in Singapore. Practice and qualifying for the final two races will then take place, meaning Saturday’s live event will cut straight to the chase, focusing on the last two races of the Pro Series.

Those two races in question will take place around Circuit of the Americas (USA), and Yas Marina Circuit (Abu Dhabi), the latter of which played host to the finale in 2017. After a daring last-lap scrap with Fabrizio Donoso Delgado, Brendon Leigh was crowned the inaugural F1 Esports drivers’ champion that year – and though the competition may be a little different in 2018, the Briton has a very good chance of defending his crown…

THE FORM BOOK

Once again, Mercedes AMG Petronas Esports driver Brendon Leigh is the man to beat, after taking victory in four of the six races so far. His victories in Melbourne, Shanghai and Britain, as well as a controversial victory in France, have propelled him to the top of the standings, with a healthy 43-point lead over chief title rival Frederik Rasmussen.

Rasmussen famously overhauled Leigh on the line in Baku, snatching victory with metres to spare as the pair duelled along Baku City Circuit’s monster straight. The Dane has been extremely consistent, finishing on the podium in the last four races, and is Leigh’s closest competitor.

That is not to discount Mercedes AMG Petronas Esports’ other driver, Daniel Bereznay, however. He too has shone through with consistent driving, scoring points at all but one race of the Pro Series, and cruising to victory at the most recent race in Belgium, meaning he has good momentum to bring through to the final races and challenge his Silver Arrows teammate.

Runner-up in 2017, Fabrizio Donoso Delgado, was well in the mix at the second live show, with his Hype Energy eForce India teammate Marcel Keifer also impressing, racking up his second podium of the series. Joni Tormala also showed what he was made of, challenging Bereznay for victory in Belgium, and coming away with a podium for Red Bull Esports. All will be bringing their A-game in the final four races –  and though for some the thought of fighting for the championship is a little distant, the challenge of setting the DHL Fastest Lap Award is still very much a free-for-all, adding an extra layer of complexity to proceedings.

With three drivers sharing all six victories between them so far, it is no great surprise that their respective teams lead the way in the other standings table. Mercedes are out ahead on 208, with Toro Rosso the only other team to break into triple digits. Though the gap to the leaders is a mighty 71 points, the 172 points on offer in the final four races provides the opportunity for anything to happen.

Saturday’s pair of races in the USA and Abu Dhabi will be broadcast live on the official F1 Facebook page from 1900 GMT, and on selected TV networks around the world. And don’t be late – your only chance to catch highlights from races seven and eight will be in Saturday’s live show, so make sure you set those alarms to avoid missing any of the gripping action.

L'eSport Grand Final avrà luogo insieme alla finale della stagione di MotoGP a Valencia. La location ha ospitato le gare di MotoGP sin dalla sua prima apertura nel 1999, mettendo in scena alcune delle più memorabili corse del campionato, viste negli ultimi anni. Il tracciato di 4km, composto da cinque curve a destra, otto a sinistra e un rettilineo principale di 874 metri, è un circuito tecnico e impegnativo che metterà a dura prova i finalisti degli eSport di MotoGp. 

Questo venerdì alle 18.30 (GMT+1), lo show dalla durata di un’1 ora e 30 minuti verrà trasmesso in diretta mondiale su tutti i canali eSport di MotoGP™(Twitch, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter), sul sito motogp.com e sui canali televisivi chiave di MotoGP™. Questo programma, oltre ad altre sorprese, includerà una sessione di qualifica di 10 minuti più una gara di 10 giri.

Si è svolta ieri sera sull'impegnativo tracciato di Zolder, la terza tappa del campionato Alfa Romeo 155 Cup di DrivingItalia e come al solito, anche questa volta i piloti con le loro spettacolari Alfa hanno saputo offrire un grande spettacolo in pista, anche molto corretto. Dopo ben 32 giri tiratissimi, è stato Gianluca Rotello a trionfare per primo sotto la bandiera a scacchi, seguito da Paolo Gallenda ed Daniele Fazi, quest'ultimo autore della pole position, che però non è riuscito a sfruttare in pieno.

I piloti hanno già iniziato ad allenarsi sul circuito del Norisring, sul quale si correrà il prossimo 13 novembre e vi ricordiamo che potete sempre iscrivervi al campionato (raccomandiamo di leggere il regolamento) e partecipare già dalla prossima gara, grazie alla nostra formula che prevede la registrazione dei giri veloci sul server per l'accesso allo stesso.

Questa sera, 31 ottobre, si accendono nuovamente i motori virtuali della F1 Esports Pro Series 2018, che eleggerà il team ed il simdriver campioni del mondo virtuali della Formula 1. Da aprile a giugno scorso, sono stati oltre 66mila i giocatori che hanno cercato di guadagnarsi un posto nel Pro Draft svoltosi a luglio, che poi ha eletto i piloti scelti dai 9 teams F1 virtuali partecipanti al torneo (la Ferrari è assente). Le date per le sfide che porteranno al titolo sono tre, tutte dal vivo a Londra e trasmesse in diretta streaming. L'Italia del simracing festeggia un'importante risultato nel mondo esport: Giorgio Mangano ha infatti meritatamente conquistato il terzo posto delle Finali Europee del Campionato di Gran Turismo Sport organizzato dalla FIA, svoltosi nella cornice della Madrid Games Week, con i trenta migliori giocatori di GT Sport. Al primo posto il tedesco Mikail Hizal, mentre Adam Suswillo, dalla Gran Bretagna, è salito sul secondo gradino del podio, seguito appunto dal nostro Giorgio. 

Con questo prestigioso risultato, Giorgio Mangano si è guadagnato l'accesso alla Finale mondiale che si svolgerà a novembre, alla quale parteciperanno anche i finalisti di Asia e Oceania e i 10 migliori della Finale americana, che si terrà a Las Vegas tra il 30 e il 31 ottobre. Il Campione del Mondo finale parteciperà all'annuale evento dei FIA Awards insieme ai grandi nomi del motorsport mondiale, dove gli sarà conferito il Trofeo del Campionato FIA Gran Turismo 2018.

Kazunori Yamauchi, CEO di Polyphony Digital: "È stata una grande Finale europea. Ho davvero molta stima per questi piloti e per l'abilità che hanno dimostrato in pista. Hanno dato un grande spettacolo ai migliaia di fan che erano lì per loro. Le corse erano degne di una competizione mondiale. Quando abbiamo lanciato i FIA GT Championship, volevamo riunire i migliori piloti di Gran Turismo Sport e farli gareggiare su un palcoscenico mondiale. La Finale mondiale sarà di certo un evento speciale."

Oggi e domani, sabato 20 ottobre, alla Madrid Games Week, in Spagna, si svolge la finale europea del Gran Turismo Championship 2018 certificato dalla FIA, per determinare il pilota più veloce della regione europea. La "Nations Cup "è una categoria del "FIA Gran Turismo Championship", un nuovo sport motoristico reso possibile dalla collaborazione tra FIA (Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile) e Gran Turismo Sport. Nella Nations Cup si affrontano piloti della stessa regione in rappresentanza di diversi paesi e territori. 30 giocatori provenienti da 13 diversi paesi di Europa, Medio Oriente e Africa si riuniranno per determinare il pilota di GT più veloce d'Europa. L'evento incoronerà il primo campione europeo e determinerà i partecipanti alla finale mondiale che seguirà. Il livello della competizione è ovviamente altissimo.

Nelle gare di qualificazione svoltesi oggi, che potete rivedere nel video qui sotto, sono stati purtroppo eliminati i nostri Marco Grasso e Maurizio Portabene, mentre con una straordinaria vittoria nella gara finale di ripescaggio, è riuscito a qualificarsi il nostro Giorgio Mangano. Enzo, come è nato il rapporto con McLaren?
“Ho conosciuto Ben Payne, Direttore eSport di McLaren, alla Race of Champions, che si è svolta questo febbraio a Ryiadh, nelle quale sono riuscito a battere l’attuale campione di F1 Esport, Brendon Leigh: penso di aver attirato la sua attenzione. A Ryiadh abbiamo parlato di come si sta sviluppando il simracing edei progetti futuri della McLaren, Al tempo non sapevo di nessuna competizione che riguardasse la Formula 1, quindi pensavo non ci sarebbe stato seguito. Saputo delle qualificazioni ho deciso di gareggiare, considerato anche il montepremi piuttosto interessante...”
