The Skip Barber Formula 2000 is the perfect car for either a complete rookie or a seasoned expert to hone their skills. A true racers car, it is balanced in such a way that it works well when driven well, and will work badly (often spinning off the track) when driven badly. If you don’t drive with good technique, it punishes you: It teaches you how to best drive almost every race car you will ever drive…

The first thing to note is that of the two configurations, the National version is both easier and faster to drive. The Regional version takes significantly longer to warm the tires, etc, but both configurations do have the same handling traits overall.

It is very important to keep the throttle down while turning, as this will keep the rear suspension loaded and the car more stable. Weight transfer is also critical, and any changes to throttle input on entry or mid-way through a turn, which will shift the weight away from the rear and cause “lift off oversteer”, will often lead to a spin.

Smooth input is probably the most important aspect of this car, and any car. You must smoothly turn in, carefully feed in the power, try not to fight it too much in the corner, then smoothly let the wheel run as you exit the turn. Always be aware how much the car moves around underneath you, the car will not react well if you put a wheel on the grass on turn-in: That loss of grip will be devastating.

Most importantly: Don’t give up on it. If you can adapt your driving style to this car, and drive it well, you will become a better driver in everything you drive. The frustration of spinning out will all be worth it if you can beat this car. La Kunos Simulazioni ha confermato oggi il rilascio entro marzo del suo atteso Dream Pack per Assetto Corsa (che conterrà il Nordschleife e 10 nuove vetture) pubblicando un video di anteprima dedicato alla mitica Alfa Romeo 155 DTM. Sempre via Facebook, la Kunos ci mostra anche alcune foto scattate oggi ai piloti Nicola Larini, Ken Dobson e Jeff Westphal che a Vallelunga hanno provato a lungo il simulatore italiano.

KUNOS Simulazioni ha rilasciato il primo teaser dedicato al "Dream Pack" il primo DLC prodotto per Assetto Corsa che includerà il circuito del Nordschleife, realizzato per la prima volta tramite una scansione laser accurata della pista che garantirà una fedeltà mai vista prima rispetto alla controparte reale. Il package includerà anche dieci auto da una selezione di "dream cars" votate nel 2014 dagli appassionati, tutte rigorosamente riprodotte su licenza ufficiale e nel rispetto dei dati e delle caratteristiche delle controparti reali: Alfa Romeo GTA, Alfa Romeo 155 Ti V6, Alfa Romeo 4C, BMW M235i Racing, Corvette C7.r GTE, McLaren F1 GTR, McLaren P1, Mercedes-Benz Sauber C9, Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5-16 Evolution II DTM, NISSAN GT-R NISMO 2014 GT3.

How it works

Run the ".exe" file, it should bring up a very simple program that you keep running while doing singleplayer races in R3E.

• The program tracks edits to "My Documents/My Games/SimBin... raceresults.txt" which contains the results of the last completed race (no matter what kind of race it was).
  
• Based on the content of the file a unique "championship" is created (hash based on starter-field). That means if you choose always the same starter-field config (vehilce class and number of opponents) in your single player race, it shall treat it as a single championship
  
• For every completed race, the results are appended to the championship file (a simple text file storing the results for every race) and a HTML file is generated with the current standings, see image above
  

It is an "open" championship, as none of the settings are really frozen (AI...), you can keep going and mix tracks however you want, a pseudo championship based on your single player races. Simply delete the appropriate database lua file in the "results" directory to start fresh again.

We are happy to release version 1.35 of Silverstone Circuit for rFactor 2. This update includes a number of small fixes and tweaks, a very important fix for the GT AIW (AI driving lines), and the addition, finally, of a working National configuration.

KUNOS Simulazioni, dopo aver annunciato l'acquisizione della licenza ufficiale Lamborghini per Assetto Corsa, ci svela ulteriori dettagli sull'attesissimo DLC Dream Pack, che ci metterà a disposizione il circuito del Nordschleife realizzato con tecnologia laserscan.

Queste le parole di Marco Massarutto, Produttore Esecutivo di KUNOS Simulazioni: Riprodurre modelli ufficiali di Lamborghini Automobili è per noi un vero onore, ma soprattutto trasmette a tutti i fan di Assetto Corsa un messaggio molto chiaro: la decisione di realizzare un investimento così pesante dopo il rilascio di Assetto Corsa, sottolinea quanto KUNOS Simulazioni creda in questo progetto e nella community. Significa anche che nel medio termine, potete attendervi novità e sviluppi che vanno oltre il semplice concetto di "contenuti aggiuntivi".

Come già menzionato in occasione del lancio della versione 1.0, essa rappresenta non solo un traguardo, ma un nuovo punto di partenza. Il team di sviluppo sta già lavorando sui contenuti, gli aggiornamenti e le nuove feature previste per il 2015. Diverse novità devono ancora essere svelate, ma gli sviluppatori di Assetto Corsa sono certi di riuscire a emozionare di nuovo i loro fan. Con l'aggiunta delle nove Lamborghini selezionate per Assetto Corsa, il totale delle auto aggiuntive ufficiali previste per il 2015 raggiungerà le 50 unità, e il garage di Assetto Corsa toccherà quota 100!

I giocatori vogliono certamente sapere di più sull'attesissimo Dream Pack, previsto a breve, che porterà sui monitor della community il leggendario circuito del Nordschleife, per la prima volta riprodotto in Laserscan, accompagnato dalle dieci dream car scelte dalla community: le Alfa Romeo 4C, 155 DTM, GTA, le McLaren P1 e F1 GTR, la Nissan GT-R Nismo 2014 GT3, la GM Corvette C7r GTE, le Mercedes 190 DTM e Sauber-C9, e la BMW M235 VLN. A partire dalla prossima settimana la KUNOS tutto ciò che c'è da sapere sul Dream Pack: immagini di anteprima, video, caratteristiche, oltre a informazioni su pre-order, prezzo di lancio e disponibilità.

Durante la presentazione di Assetto Corsa a Vallelunga, ho potuto constatare che lo scarto tra il vostro simulatore e la realtà è davvero minimo. In sostanza, dopo interminabili sessioni d'allenamento virtuale, al volante di una vera Nissan GT-R, nel bel mezzo della Cimini, mi sentivo "a casa"…

Credo che il segreto sia nel nostro approccio alla simulazione. Fin da netKar PRO, non abbiamo creato un gioco di guida "con" un modello fisico. Abbiamo sempre creato il modello fisico, realizzando attorno ad esso tutto il resto. La nostra sede operativa è all'interno di un vero autodromo dal 2009, e dal 2006 abbiamo collaborato a diversi livelli con i protagonisti del motorsport, dal GT alla Formula 1. Il know-how che abbiamo acquisito ci ha consentito di approcciare alla materia nel modo più naturale, realizzando un modello dinamico che riproduce le vere forze fisiche in gioco. Pertanto, oggi, quando implementiamo una nuova vettura in Assetto Corsa, non dobbiamo "cercare" di farla comportare come la controparte reale: utilizziamo i suoi veri dati nel nostro modello matematico, e dopo una fase di affinamento, l'auto si comporta come ci si aspetta che debba fare.

Il team Sector3 ha rilasciato per il suo RaceRoom Racing Experience il nuovo pacchetto DTM 1992, che ci permette di simulare la storica annata del campionato turismo tedesco DTM, con tutte le vetture protagoniste dell'epoca: BMW M3 Sport Evolution, Ford Mustang GT DTM, Mercedes 190E Evo II DTM, Opel Omega 3000 Evo500 e Audi V8 DTM.
