Just in-time for the Indy 500 and Angie’s List Grand Prix of Indianapolis, we have an updated version of Indianapolis Motor Speedway for you to enjoy… This minor release fixes a few equally minor issues, and is a good opportunity to demonstrate how a Steam content package update works. It should be a seamless experience; and it shouldn’t download the full track again if you’re subscribed to the item. What’s changed? A good amount of cutting false positives have been addressed, as well as the pit entry glitch on the 2014 layout. Cam bugs have also been fixed, and the AI cars now use headlights on the road courses. In an attempt to slowly move away from the recent desaturated look, the grass should look a tad more alive. And yes, non-Steam people can still grab the full download and install manually if they wish. Download: 447MB (Steam version should update automatically if subscribed to Image Space Inc in workshop).     Il team ISI ha finalmente rilasciato la nuova Build 300 del suo rFactor2: questo 18° update porta con sè alcuni miglioramenti al framerate, ma soprattutto alcune novità sul fronte della fisica, come la possibilità di flessione dei telai. E' inoltre disponibile un dimostrativo del gioco aggiornato. Tutti i dettagli e commenti nell'apposito topic sul forum. We've also started to implement a new constraint system (which is used in the upcoming historic Howston cars), that allows many new physics features, such as chassis flex. Most importantly, this system allows suspension geometry and wheel rates to be more accurate than the old model was able to simulate. This system adds complexity and accuracy, but has already been optimized, with no notable additional CPU usage. Of course older cars will be updated in the future, and new cars will use the new system going forward. Fortunately, it's quite easy to convert... MULTIPLAYER: ———————— Now uses a single port for simulation data. +port is the command line option. Simulation port in multiplayer.ini. Can now run server and client on the same machine. I've been working on it for the last half year, learning things, so I hope you like it as much as I did during the conversion. The track was created by Image Space Incorporated for the rfactor Drift Revolution Install over 2007.   9. Doppia notizia legata a rFactor 2. Nella giornata di ieri, infatti, gli ISI hanno pubblicato un eseguibile temporaneo che va a risolvere i problemi di chi, dopo la manutenzione che hanno effettuato alcuni giorni fa, si vedesse impossibilitato a mantenere il login all'interno del simulatore, dovendo rifarlo ogni volta. L'installazione è davvero semplice: basta scaricare il file e decomprimerlo nella cartella principale di rFactor 2. È poi arrivato anche un nuovo screen panoramico dall'Autodromo Mores, lavoro iniziato dal nostrano Tuttle ed entrato poi a tutti gli effetti a far parte dei tracciati in fase di lavorazione per questo simulatore. L'ambientazione sembra essere riprodotta al meglio e siamo sicuri che chi ha già girato nel piccolo autodromo sardo non faticherà a ritrovarsi a casa. L'immagine porta poi con sè un'ulteriore buona notizia, dato che ci comunica che la pista è nella fase finale di testing e non dovrebbe mancare molto al suo rilascio.
  10. Gli ISI hanno appena pubblicato un nuove eseguibile per tutti coloro che riscontrassero problemi nel login dopo il periodo offline che hanno avuto qualche giorno fa. Se anche a voi non vengono salvate le credenziali del login, estrate questo eseguibile nella cartella principale di rFactor 2 e sovrascrivetelo. DOWNLOAD
  11. Tramite due nuovi render possiamo seguire lo sviluppo di due nuove vetture che arriveranno in futuro su rFactor 2. La prima, fresca fresca di annuncio, è la splendida Nissan GT500 GT-R realizzata direttamente dagli ISI, alfiere della casa nipponica nel campionato giapponese Super GT. Gli amanti dei prototipi e delle gare di durata saranno invece felici di sapere che i lavori sul mod EnduranceRacingX proseguono: il team è attualmente impegnato nella realizzazione della Darche EGT5, vettura di fantasia che richiama una nota casa tedesca. Ricordiamo inoltre che il team è al lavoro sulla pista La Charité, che dovrebbe permettere di esprimere al meglio le performance di questi bolidi.

Luc Van Camp degli ISI ha pubblicato una nuova guida in cui spiega meglio il funzionamento della feature Real Road e chiarisce il motivo per cui molti lamentano una forte mancanza di grip nei primi giri di pista. È una guida rivolta prevalentemente ai modder, ma si rivela una lettura interessante anche per tutti coloro che vogliono conoscere meglio rFactor 2: trovate tutto a questo link.
  13. We have just released example TGM files (tire files) for every type of tire we currently could. We've labelled the release 0.7 because we are sure there will be tweaks, but this now means there is now very little to stop an rFactor1 modder from building an rFactor2 car... As it is very likely we have a tire suitable for them: TGM files define parameters for the tires. The software interprets them to allow wear patterns and other driving characteristics. rFactor2 is a lot more complex than rFactor1 in this regard, so these examples were essential at this point.   15. Nella discussione della build 240 sul forum ufficiale ISI, Joe Campana ha scritto questo post che chiarisce l'utilizzo dei core da parte di rFactor 2. Contrariamente quindi a quanto avevo anch'io riportato nel topic di Silverstone, rFactor 2 non sfrutta ancora appieno le risorse a disposizione delle moderne CPU. Penso sia un ottimo segnale: vuol dire che c'è ancora ampio margine da sfruttare. Potrebbe essere la soluzione a molti dei problemi di performance che più di una persona ha riscontrato, soprattutto con schede AMD. Vediamo se e quando faranno sfruttare all'eseguibile tutti i core (e magari anche i relativi thread).

    Con questo tweet Jeremy Miller ci fa sapere del probabile imminente arrivo di una demo per rFactor 2 assieme alla build 229: niente è sicuro, ma se stanno iniziando a pensarci significa che forse siamo vicini a quella che si può considerare una versione 1.0 del simulatore.     La Skip Barber di rF2 si aggiorna

    Gli ISI hanno pubblicato una nuova versione della loro Skip Barber, slegandola così dalla pista di Lime Rock e rendendola installabile anche singolarmente. La vettura, da sempre una delle monoposto più interessanti per gli appassionati di ruote scoperte grazie alle sue capacità "scolastiche" (viene infatti utilizzata in diversi corsi di guida per insegnare i fondamentali della guida su pista) ha subito sia migliorie grafiche che sotto il profilo fisico. La lista di vetture da aggiornare si accorcia sempre più (dovrebbe mancare solo la Formula Two) e piano piano tutti i contenuti di rFactor 2 stanno raggiungendo lo stesso livello qualitativo, così da essere pronti per una eventuale release 1.0. Riguardo infine l'attesa pista di Silverstone con relativo update, Tim ha confermato persino una demo: "We’re still planning to get Silverstone and a free demo out this week".
  21. ISI Formula Masters While the 2012 Formula ISI might be an older model and chassis, this car is used by a large number of rFactor 2 Grand Prix racing leagues around the world. Something more modern is in the pipeline, but we wanted to bring the 2012 car up-to-date before that (mainly because a lot of people don’t like the modern cars).     Gli ISI suggeriscono di provare ad effettuare l'auto aggiornamento dal simulatore per mettere sotto stress il sistema. In caso di problemi potrete sempre scaricare la versione Lite ed installarla su quella attuale senza perdere i contenuti già installati.
