Assetto Corsa Competizione: DrivingItalia intervista Marco Massarutto (parte 2)

       (0 reviews)

Inclusi i sistemi Direct Drive.

    Quote

    ENGLISH
    (Google translate)

On the official site we read things that excite your imagination: will the detail that you want to reach be so high? Do not you risk that too much "professionalism" is required on the part of the virtual driver (who will have to know the regulations and characteristics of the car) or one of the objectives you have is to have very "prepared" pilots?
The level of detail is linked to the fact of simulating a very specific sports series, in terms of cars, tires used, regulations, scoring and so on, and to be able to concentrate our experience to reproduce a specific type of cars. The advantage of AC Competizione is not to be a "sui generis" racing game. In terms of complexity, virtual pilots will not be in trouble, indeed: they will have the opportunity to enjoy an even more complete and accurate simulation, while less experienced players will enjoy AC Competizione without having to deepen the more complex aspects to have fun. Obviously, the appetite comes with eating, so we believe that even the most savvy casual gamers will "foment" as they discover what the game has to offer.

Assetto Corsa Competizione will have a very advanced classification system, will evaluate both individual performance and fairness on the track, in order to reward the most skilled drivers and promote fair play in online competitions: particular attention for e-sport then? Do you want to tell us something more?
Assetto Corsa's multiplayer has acquired excellent stability over time: what we want to do now is to provide the tools to make the most of it. The eSport is not an end, the more the natural consequence of making available a suite of tools that allow you to easily connect with other players of the same level, and attitude, I would add. We have carefully observed what has been successfully achieved by third parties for Assetto Corsa in terms of rating, leaderboard, etc, to ensure a satisfying multiplayer experience, and we will make sure that within AC Competizione virtual pilots will find everything what it takes to compete at its best and in the easiest way possible. One of the ways to do this was to hire Kevin Stuck, the author of Minorating: what we are developing together aims to engage players in the long run, on the very concept of "competition".

Now the direct results of online tenders are a consolidated reality: do you expect to compete in specific menus and options to facilitate streaming and comments?
Surely we want to give those tools that can bring a direct closer to a more television cut. But we are still at an early stage of study.

On the site already confirm the maximum compatibility with the most modern devices, will you support directly the advanced Direct Drive systems?
Our goal is to continue to support all devices recognized by Direct Input, so it's more in the interest of hardware manufacturers to make their peripherals compatible with Microsoft's APIs. Including Direct Drive systems. We also want to spend more time using the game through gamepad, with which you can navigate the menus without having to necessarily have a mouse and keyboard at your fingertips.

Define the mathematical model of Competition as "very sophisticated that accurately replicates the grip of the tires, the aerodynamic impact, the parameters of the engine, suspension and electronics that determine the balance of the cars, as well as the influence of mechanical damage on the driveability of the 'car': will it be even more advanced than Assetto Corsa?
Given that there is always room for improvement, with Assetto Corsa we have reached a high level of sophistication, which nevertheless represents the starting point for AC Competizione. One of the new professional figures working on the project is a mechanical engineer with whom we are investigating specific issues such as those mentioned by you. In 2013, the Assetto Corsa engine "1" did not have the level of depth it enjoys today, after 4 years of development; obviously that of AC Competizione will represent a significant evolution under different aspects.

In racing games with official licenses it is increasingly rare to see advanced damage: what kind of damage to the cars should we expect in Competition?
The licensing agreements over the years have become increasingly restrictive from this point of view, especially for standard cars and racing derivatives, and now it is easy to notice a common denominator among racing games that use official licenses in the level of maximum damage obtainable. We will certainly focus on mechanical damage, which has a less important aesthetic component, but significantly influence the gaming experience and driving style.

Will Competition provide advanced telemetry tools within the software menu itself?
We are evaluating different options in this regard to understand what is the most appropriate approach to follow. Directly, or through external technical collaborations.

Also in Competition we will have circuits in laser scan: will they be even more accurate than Assetto Corsa?
As in any technological field, Laserscan today also provides higher resolutions and more accurate surveys than 6 years ago: in our case this means that it is easier than in the past to interpret data and be able to work more accurately on secondary details. In the meantime we have also gained more experience in 3D modeling, so all the Competizione circuits will have a level of detail even greater than the best tracks of AC1.

What reactions did you have from the teams and drivers about the announcement to Paul Ricard?
The answer went beyond all expectations: we received offers and also requests for advice, and those of them who already use Assetto Corsa gave us suggestions or requests about those aspects that they would like to find in Competition. This really made us happy. Pilots want their cars to be reproduced in every detail, of course, helmets included! They asked us if we will simulate all the technical aspects that characterize the GT Series and the interest we have received is really good. Assetto Corsa here at Paul Ricard was a precious business card, because the environment really has a great consideration.

Have you by any chance already shown them something?
Yes, different sequences of gameplay from the smartphone. And from the reactions received now we can not afford mistakes ..: D

We have seen in several photos the Nissan GT-R Gran Turismo Sport, also reproduce that livery?
Absolutely yes, there was a fantastic curtain in the garage with the mechanics during the photo shoot because they did not believe that we would have reproduced the livery, or that the Nissan in AC Competizione would have been "strangely" the slowest of the group. fast or not, it will only depend on them! : D

Can we expect a release on Steam in early access for the summer?
The idea is that: when, and what it will include, we are still defining it, depending on the features that will be ready and tested when we are "confident" to release the first version.
