Scusate,

E c'è chi chiama ancora i simulatori "giochini".

Thanks for your analysis but you're omitting some data on your research.
The diffuser for example, is quite big and very sensitive. Depending on how the height, setup of springs, suspension travel, angle of attack of the body, speed etc etc, every single element of that, can change dramatically (and I mean dramatically) the aero balance of the car. The rear diffuser can stall, move the aero balance at the front, at the rear, raise or lower the downforce, everything in less than 10-20mm of ride height and in a range of 100km/h

Also, the front wing gets clean air and sits very low to the ground, thus generating tons of downforce with little drag.
The rear wing is always quite big, but it does not generate so much downforce, because it gets tons of dirty air from the rest of the body and sits quite high not able to generate any ground effect.
Engineers try to balance the car with the rear wind, but the compromise is always tons of drag, because to be able to generate enough downforce to balance the car, you get tons of drag. This is why you see so elaborate front wings in modern aero cars. Given the big amount of downforce that the front wing can generate, they also use it to try and guide the air in a way that riches the rear wing without too much turbulence.
This arguments are not just for the exos, but practically for any aero car. Just look at how complex the front ends of the LMP1 cars are for example.

So generally the exos likes to work with less wing "number" at the front than the rear, no big deal, the big deal is to try to understand all the complexity of the aero dynamics of the car and make a setup that works with them.
Hint: the diffuser stalls under a certain height (I think around 40mm). You could use this to your advance, make the aero more balanced at the rear for traction at low speeds, then make the diffuser stall over say 220km/h and get less drag and more balanced aero for very high speed turns, by using properly the springs and the bumpstops... good luck!

P.S. 1 Now, I've also grown up with GP1 and GP2 from Sir Crammond... but we have come a long way through and aero balance is not just two even numbers front and rear. It's just not that simplistic anymore. Just think why those car are setup so incredibly stiff. It's not because that way they gain more mechanical grip, they simply don't even bother about that (ok I'm exaggerating but you get what I mean), all they look for is keeping the ride height as stable as possible to minimize the aero balance problems to the minimum.

P.S. 2 yes the abarth seems to work better with front and rear wing on equal "numbers". But it is also a "school" single seater that is used as the next step of racing for go-kart champions... and in the end they are just a number of holes on the wings, not even degrees.
