Overhaul Mod v2.0

This mod is a collection of tweaks/fixes/addons to mod various aspects of Shift. Car handling is somewhat easier around the centre for straight line driving, and harder at the edges, compared to default game and community patch. "Pro" difficulty is recommended.

Feature overview:

i) many bugs have been fixed. It turns out, Shift is actually a lot better game once you get rid of a bunch of low level bugs :)

ii) practically every physics component of the game has been altered with the aim of improving basic data accuracy and in-game consistency between cars. Suspensions, engines and aerodynamics have been altered to reflect per-car and per-upgrade level changes more accurately than in the default game, and there are many changes to default car setups and controller profiles to give better feedback and response to control input, particularly for wheel users.

iii) an extremely large number of visual, audio, and gameplay tweaks have been provided by members of the Shift community, either removing outright or giving you the option to remove several other annoyances from the stock game.

This mod is not a revolution. Instead, it is a convenient and effective collection of tweaks/fixes/addons to mod various aspects of Shift. Those who've already spent months modding their Shift installation may not be interested, but those new to Shift may really benefit from this mod package. After all the time I've spent participating in the development of handling mods, this is finally what I've settled on for my personal usage.

***** PLEASE NOTE:

- I recommend this mod rather than the Unofficial Community patch

- this would not have been possible without the teamwork of the Shift modding community

- currently for unpacked game only

- intended for freshly unpacked game with official v1.02 patch

- can be installed over the community patch without problem

- to avoid problems, please (!) take the time to read the included readme properly from start to finish :)

- when using a car for first time with mod I strongly recommend reseting car tuning (CAR GARAGE > MY CARS menu,

then reset it's setup with 'c' key in CAR GARAGE > TUNING menu.

Here is a list of changes:

- workaround for the brake bias being applied incorrectly by game UI. The workaround unfortunately disables the slider but does allow the game to use the default value

- reduce input lag and add adjustable damper/friction to wheel FFB

- adjustments to tyre grip and Centre of Gravity

- bug fix that was restricting in-game wheel rotation

- minimised gear change delay

- remove driver arms

- remove wheel shake

- match in-game wheel rotation with your wheel

- new controller profiles to change wheel ffb (also fix bug in DFGT pedals settings)

- disabled grip reduction on Karrussel (banked corner at Nordschleife)

- all tuning options available on all purchased cars

- further reduced volume of tyre squeal

- enable reverse driving to double available tracks (for hotlapping and multiplayer with friends)

- disabled intro movies

- remove replay music

- reduced speed blur so you can still read dials at high speed

- reduced blur when crashing

- remove greyscale when crashing

- remove onscreen start lights

The mod requires the official 1.02 patch for Need for Speed Shift to be installed and is aimed at drivers using a wheel using the Pro mode.
