It was supposed to be under wraps until the very last moment, but such is the life of the games retail market. The publishing and distribution people need to work with retail chains to position any game in the development pipeline way ahead of release, and so the information and speculative release dates kept leaking left and right. So what is this game and why does it even exist when you could argue that we should focus 100% on Euro Truck Simulator 2? The project is the result of a very productive dialogue we have started with the great guys at Scania CV AB. You could have read our grumbling repeatedly here on this blog about how difficult it is for the company our size to even get noticed by the big guys, be them truck and trailer manufacturers or logistics companies. The "serious" industry too often considers games as something controversial and unimportant anyway, and even marketing departments are usually too conservative and concentrated on traditional media to grasp the idea that the thousands and thousand of people playing truck sims are in fact the ideal audience that they could approach through our game..... VELOCIPEDE Posted June 9, 2012 Author Share Posted June 9, 2012 When a game is released, it's hard to pinpoint a specific moment in time when the team can consider the work to be truly finished. The game has "gone gold" a few days ago already - we have started producing the "gold masters" for our publishing partners - but the process has been going on through the whole week and it's going to continue well into the next week. Meanwhile, we have been hard at work finishing elements of the official game website (www.scaniadrivergame.com), which we expect to launch early next week. Our brave group of beta testers kept torturing the game even after the official finish line, and they have managed to discover a few glitches that we need to fix. So the programmers and designers kept going, working on the first patch of the game. If you are curious, here is the "changelog" so far: Additional type of steering wheel & pedals-friendly automatic gearbox which does not flip brake and accelerator pedals during reverse movement. It is possible to give hints to the automatic gearbox using the Shift Up/Shift Down buttons. Fixed HUD mirrors and look presets for UK vehicles. Fixed waiting times on gas stations Better TV camera placement on several YETD challenges Three additional bonus Dangerous Drives levels built The game has also started to get mentions in the news. Scania corporation has a piece of news on their Newsroom announcing the upcoming game. Over at truckgame.cz, a competition has been announced giving away copies of Scania Truck Driving Simulator to winners over the next couple of days. We also need to prepare more promotional material to warm up the public to the game launch, and today we have a new little movie for you, showing scenes from the free-driving map. Scania Truck Driver Simulator The Game has appeared on store shelves in Poland this week already, ahead of the official street date, so we had to act faster than we anticipated to allow people to compete online. The patch will also include a couple of new Dangerous Drives challenges. We are planning several free content updates for the game which are going to come to you through a series of patches - quite a lot of new stuff. Yet more Dangerous Drives are in the pipeline, and also a sizable extension of the free-roaming map for "Deliveries." Pareri? io ho provato la demo e devo dire che è bello come gioco, ma prenderò il euro truck simulation 2 sempre della scs software in uscita ad agosto salvo imprevisti.
