V8Factor Unleashed (V8FU) v1.1 - Full Install
---------------------------------------------
by Team ORSM (OCEANIA RACE SIM MODDERS)
www.teamorsm.com
August 2011

Australian V8 Supercars MOD for rFactor

This install includes:
- Base Install (the core files for running the MOD)
- Community Edition cars (ideal for league use)
- Championship Season 2010 cars
- Championship Season 2011 cars

!!!IMPORTANT!!!
Before proceeding with this installation we recommend you uninstall "V8Factor Unleashed BETA v0.9" AND "V8Factor Unleashed Add-on Season 2010 v1.0"
NOTE: Our old V8Factor 2006 v1.3 mod is a completely separate MOD and is not required for V8FU. It can remain installed or be removed without any problem.

Installation:
------------
Follow the instructions in this Installer. Please make sure you select the correct path to your rFactor installation. Files will be automatically installed.

Updates in this version:
-----------------------
* Ford Falcon FG lower level detail models (LODs) added
* Ford Falcon BF lowest level detail model (LOD) added
* Numerous other model tweaks
* Visual tyre compound changes on track (now possible to see who is using sprint tyres and who is using enduro tyres)
* Improved headlight texture and tweaked projection settings
* Headlights now use 'flare' style
* Physics improvements including:
- tyre heating/wear for both compounds
- grip reduction for sprint tyres
- engine cooling
- camber adjustment has more increments
- Radiator blanking (Grill Tape) has more increments
- Numerous aero improvements (including moving radiator and brake duct points of force to front of car instead of middle)
* New menu music tracks
* Inclusion of updated FULL Season 2010 and additional 2010 car skins
* Inclusion of FULL Season 2011
* Updated Category filter for Community Edition cars to include make & model
* Upgrades order re-shuffled to be more intuitive
* New installer including LZMA compression

Known Issues:
------------
* Old 2006 mod cockpits with minor alterations are being used. New cockpits are underway but not yet complete. There is no guarantee they will be released.
* V8FU has been built to perform best in DX9 mode. Although DX8 and DX7 modes should work fine on most systems, those modes have not been extensively tested and bugs or unexpected visuals may be experienced.

Special Features:
----------------
UPGRADES: We have utilised rFactor's upgrades system to allow for more customisation options. You can select different levels of cockpit detail for example, change wheels, change exhaust position, and even change steering wheel types and readout displays. Make sure you take a look at the upgrades system and try some of the changes. NOTE: These upgrades are visual only and have no performance differences. Exhaust positions should be taken into account if painting new skins.

Suggested Game Settings:
-----------------------
If you use a wheel as your controller you will get much better feel and response in driving the cars by setting "Speed Sensitive Steering" to zero (move the slider all the way to the left).
Also VERY IMPORTANT is the Controller.ini setting called "Steer Ratio Speed". This acts as a secondary kind of Speed Sensitive Steering and increases your steering lock to help get your car out of the garage and into the pitlane at slow speeds. However by default rFactor sets this to 20 metres per second which equates to 72Km/H. That means in slow hairpins or while trying to recover while going off track you may have your steering lock significantly increased without realising it. We suggest setting this parameter to zero, or 10 at the most (36km/h).

eg. Steer Ratio Speed="0.00000"

We suggest you take a little time to 'tweak' all your controller settings to make sure you are getting the most responsive input for your particular controller.

Suggested Player file settings:
------------------------------
Your Player file is called "[yourplayername].PLR" located in rFactor/UserData/[yourplayername] and can be opened in Notepad. NOTE: Editing the PLR file is done at your own risk. We suggest you backup the file by renaming it to [yourplayername].bak before editing.
- Low Detail UI="0" -> Default is "1". Increase the visual quality of the User Interface (UI) by making this value "0".
- Autocalibrate AI Mode="0" -> Default is "0". When this feature is switched on (by changing it to "1") rFactor ignores the talent files, meaning all AI will have the same skills as each other. If you are not creating track learning files make sure its set on "0" for the best AI racing.
AI Limiter="0.00000" -> Default is "1". The V8Factor AI race better when this parameter is set to zero. Otherwise you occasionally get one or two cars having an extremely slow lap, which tends to cause collisions.

Recommended RealFeel plugin settings:
------------------------------------
[V8 Supercar]
MaxForceAtSteeringRack=1500.000000
SteeringDamper=2500.000000
FFBMixerRealFeelPercent=100.000000
SmoothingLevel=1

These are subject to personal taste as well as the type of wheel you use.

------------------------------------------------------------------
Thankyou for playing V8Factor Unleashed by Team ORSM

Don't forget -> in "Controller.ini" -> Steer Ratio Speed="0.00000"[/indent]

[indent=1]Please be aware.....
There have been reports that Norton 360 is hiding the files when you try to install.. You may need to disable N360 before installation..

How to Temporarily disable Nortons 360.
1. Open Nortons from the system tray,
2. Choose settings > antivirus > realtime protection > autoprotect off.
3. It will then ask for a timeframe, choose that based on the estimated download time..

If you are concerned about the Virus implications, it is recommended you virus check the download before installing.
If you have dowloaded the file already, and you can't see it, the file should be on your system in quarantine. In most situations search the help for setting a file as safe.
