New Track–Brands Hatch First used for racing in 1926, Brands Hatch, based in Kent, UK, was transformed into a purpose-built motor racing circuit in 1950. Ten years later it was extended and, in 1964, hosted its first British Grand Prix—an event it would go on to share with Silverstone until 1986. Contesting the eighth season of the FIA World Touring Car Championship, Lukoil – SUNRED’s #3 Leon was driven by Gabriele Tarquini. The 1.6T, piloted by the Italian driver for the final eight rounds of the season, replaced the 2.0 TDI with which he had begun the campaign as SEAT introduced new cars following a major update to the Super 2000 Regulations for 2011.
