Guest destinationriver
Hi, I can't speak italian and so I haven't found the help-topic. Hope you can help me instead. I searched for a tutorial, how to make own skins in the internet. There i found the posting by an admin here in the forum. I'm now in lesson 2 and have 2 Problems.1st one is, that I use GIMP and when I save the Template, I got an .xcf file, and not a psg (?) file like his.2nd is, that I can't open the NVIDIA Photoshop (program, to get .dds file). I downloaded it for 32bit and 64 bit, none of them worked. I started the installer, and when it was installed, I just had .pdf files with instructions, but the real program I found nowhere on my computer. Thanks, destinationriver

Thanks, destinationriver Hi destinationriver, - (...)I use GIMP and when I save the Template, I got an .xcf file Whenever you choose Save (or Save As) in Gimp, it uses its proprietary format (.xcf). To save to other formats, you have to choose "Export" from the file menu. The best option would be to save an .xcf copy of your file, to preserve everything in the gimp format, then export a copy in .png(?) - 2nd is, that I can't open the NVIDIA Photoshop (program, to get .dds file). I can't understand if this is the problem, but in case you cant save dds files, you can use Paint.net as a converter. Export a .png from gimp, open it in Paint.net, and Save as .DDS. You will have to set the correct DDS flags (search AC forum to know which kind of DDS are good for skins, I don't know this bit, sorry).
