Comments from Lake Louise V2 players:

  • This track is EPIC. I particularly like the differences in road surface... And the new roads are so much more similar to north american wide roads with huge asphalt shoulders - Ax|xA
  • I love long & complex tracks & this one is the king - Phil64
  • My favorite part are the old tarmac full of bumps. Simple amazing visually and FFB feel - Eduardo Aguiar
  • You guys using the rift for this? Let me tell you it's ridiculous to the max. Lake Louise is so good in vr. - djbordie
  • V2 is just a blast, best 5 bucks I spend in a while - Ace Pumpkin
  • Holy crap, hands down one of the most amazing drives in a sim I've had. The variety of sweepers, twisty roads, and hairpins with diverse cambering and crests was superb. Congratulations, you've made me run out of gas for the first time in the hundreds of hours I've played AC. It was that good - Apex5
  • I bought a racing seat, G27 and DK2 just because your track. It's like therapy to relax after dealing with daily madness. I don't even bother to drive on other tracks from the game.
  • Everyday when I come home I sit down, drive some relaxed laps around the lake -steam25

Update Sep 8th
Beta V1.0 is out, this is for frame rate test mostly. There are known bugs, and there's a huge to-do list already for updates planned later on, so please read through them and don't post the same stuff over and over again if you can help it, thanks!

Bugs:
Pit lane is bumpy as hell
Some graphic glitches where lights shows through the ground side
Road signs are not collidable
Reports of low frame rates with less than 2gb Vram
AI sometimes dive bombs down Giant's step first hairpin
MP is untested, no idea if it works
No Cameras done yet

What works:
Hot lap, single race
Other planned additions are on the todo list below, please check before making suggestions. Honestly I have a lot of ideas of what to add onto the track, what I don't have is the time and skill to do them clear.png
Please drive with Track description on for better conversations about the different sections of the track.

Update Sep 15th
Beta V1.2 is here. Frame rates should be better (let me know). Bad news though, AC editor just crashes on import now for no reason, one minute it's working, next minute it crashes... (reinstalling now)
There are known bugs in this version, and there's a huge to-do list already for updates planned later on (see first post), so please read through them and don't post the same stuff over and over again if you can help it, thanks!

Change log Beta 1.2:
Landscape now has LOD, low polygon model will load until you get closer, this should improve frame rate some what
Road texture back to the multilayer one
Changed Rock wall normal map
Sort of fixed pitlane exit
Added Chateau Lake Louise hotel place holder (textures need to be tweaked)
Fixed a few light leak holes near the road
Shadow cast to off for some trees near mountain tops, stuttering at random places were due to trees from far away casting shadows onto the road and car

Change log Beta 1.1:
Detail sliders is now functional. Max shows all, Very High hide rocks, High hide shrubs, Medium hide all trees.
LODs in place for rocks and shrubs
Change pit locations
Fixed road line flickering due to shadows being drawn

Road lines are flickering, anyone know why? They're a separate mesh on top of the road mesh by about 5mm
Pit lane is bumpy as hell
Road signs are not collidable
Reports of low frame rates with less than 2gb Vram
Some trees from far away casting shadows onto the road will cause frame rate stutter
AI sometimes dive bombs down Giant's step first hairpin
No Cameras done yet
Track map with unofficial app only

What works:
Hot lap, single race, multiplayer, track description app

Other planned additions are on the todo list below, please check before making suggestions. Honestly I have a lot of ideas of what to add onto the track, what I don't have is the time and skill to do them clear.png

  • 1 month later...

Update October 21:
Beta v1.3 is out! You should get much better frame rates now than before. My minimum frame rate went from 53fps to 78fps at locations which used to be the worst. That said, it's still the largest track in AC by far, so don't expect miracles if you have a video card with less than 2gb ram.

There are known bugs in this version, and there's a huge to-do list already for updates planned later on (see first post), so please read through them and don't post the same stuff over and over again if you can help it, thanks!

Change log Beta 1.3:
Reduced landscape and rock wall polygon count by 45% (so many hours of manual sculpting! You're welcome)
Removed shadows for trees far away from the road for fps
Fixed bumpy pit problem, usable for MP now (still have slight ground/lines issues)
Changed sun position in attempt to avoid clipped mountain shadows
Added lights in the tunnels
Added guard rails at commonly dangerous areas (less crashing into trees!)
Added new rock walls on the track
Added side roads for future expansion (Still Wip)
Changed road texture
Landscape is closer to the road in many places, so no more short cutting through the gravel clear.png
Moved start/finish backwards so AI hopefully will crash less often (need new AI line, feel free to help)
Up to 18 grid spots now

Change log Beta 1.6:
Repacked the whole track into one download file with latest versions of AI/Cam
