The 24 Hours of Le Mans (24 Heures du Mans) is the world’s oldest active endurance race, held since 1923 near Le Mans, France, at Circuit de la Sarthe. It is one of the most prestigious auto races in the world, and part of the FIA World Endurance Championship.

La gara, che sarà possibile seguire in diretta su iRacing.com/live, partirà quando in Italia saranno le ore 15 di sabato 29 Ottobre.

Manca ormai pochissimo alla 24 Ore di Le Mans virtuale che si disputa con iRacing: la gara, che è possibile seguire in diretta, partirà fra pochi minuti.

Tra Formula E e WTCC, Pechito Lopez ha dato sfogo alla sua velocità anche nel mondo virtuale. Il pilota argentino ha preso parte nel weekend passato alla 24 Ore di Le Mans online organizzata dal portale americano iRacing. Lopez ha corso con l'unico team italiano di alta classifica assieme a Tommaso Carlà, Raffaele di Palo, Fabio Gonzalez ed Enrico Di Loreto, piazzandosi al sesto posto assoluto. A podio nella classe GT2 Shinya Michimi, ex pilota AutoGP ora leader del SuperTrofeo Lamborghini USA. Tra gli oltre 2000 partecipanti, divisi in 9 "split", anche Rubens Barrichello oltre ad altri piloti professionisti come Rafael Suzuki e Patrick Lindsey. Il successo è andato al quartetto Pietila-De Jong-Stamm-Werner.

 

Nearly 2000 iRacers participated in the inaugural iRacing 24 Hours of Le Mans last weekend in an online race that saw more than 486 teams of participate in the twice ‘round the clock event.  The nine splits of 54 teams produced a staggering 134,808 total laps of the virtual Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans.
The top split saw Anders Werner (DE-AT-CH), Martti Pietilä (Finland) and Mitchell DeJong (California) drive the VRS Coanda Simsport HPD ARX-01C to the overall vwin over the similar Friction Racing and CoRE Sim Racing entries.  Top honors in the GT1 class went to the ineX Racing Aston Martin DBR9 of Dave Gelink (Benelux), William Levesque (Canada) and Phillip Ellis (DE-AT-CH) who edged the DBR9s of SimRC.de Iris and Team Chimera, while ineX Racing also captured the GT2 class as PJ Stergios (New England), Justin Brunner (Indiana), Phillip Diaz (Florida), Nathan Schartner (Canada) and Aleksi Elomaa (Finland) brought their Ford GT home ahead of the Fords of Fenix Motorsports and Shinya Michimi SimRacing.

Finally, a big shout-out goes to the Ironman of the race - Central Eastern Europe’s Laurynas Cerneckas - who clocked some 270 laps at the wheel of the Simuliatoriu Akademija HPD ARX-01C en route to a fifth place finish.
