[WIP] World Super GT 2 by RMT

We are making progress on the WSGT2 RMT Megane Trophy V6 mod for rFactor 2. Time for a Video. There is still some work to do, but things are shaping up fine. We did not yet optimise the mod, but it already seems to behave fine as far as frame rate and performance is concerned.

People who might have problems with Youtube resolutions, or streaming framerate, can download the HD version video here

The material settings of the wheels will have to be tweaked, and we did not yet dial in the final settings for glass, reflection, Specular and the lot, but it already looks very cool. We are also implementing the 2009 liveries, and are putting the individual inner and outer windows in-game. Every car will have its original banner and numbering.

The menu interface graphics are not yet in, and the showroom model needs some tweaking. Rick is still working on a new update of the sounds as we speak. A sound preview video will be up shortly. As stated before, this Megane Trophy model is not to be confused with the ISI base content version. This is a scratch build model, for use in the WSGT2 mod project. The model was build back in 2009. We decided to use the model for an rFactor 2 project, to get acquainted with the rF2 workflow. Video recorded using Fraps.

As usual, all is well at RMT.

While Wix is busy working away on the final Megane textures, I've been playing around with what might be our next project.

WSGT2 – Renault Megane Trophy V6 for rFactor 2 coming soon

 

Its been a while since we have posted some news about the WSGT2 Mod for rFactor 2. As many of you might already know, we decided to use the WSGT2 RMT Megane Trophy V6 as a testing ground regarding workflow on the ISI rFactor 2 platform.

Because of other and private projects, we did not have the chance to work on this mod as often as we liked, but better late then never. Unfortunately, we did not make it in time for a Christmas release, but you should see the mod released somewhere early January.

As stated before, this Megane Trophy model is not to be confused with the ISI base content version.  Many asked why another Megane mod when there is already one in the game?  Let us explain. This is a scratch build model, created back in 2009 for rFactor1. ( You might have seen videos of it a few years ago). Almost the entire full WSGT2 mod was in game in rF1. When ISI announced rFactor 2, we decided to abandon the rF1 platform in favour of rF2. Looking back, this probably was a wrong choice. We never expected the road from announcement to release of rF2 to be as long as it did, and taking into account that the early versions of rF2 where less then promising, the project has somewhat faded to the background. Also our private lives changed allot. Commercial work, private projects, and family life had a major impact on the four of us.

That said, things have somewhat turned back to normal, and we are enjoying modding once more. As stated, the Megane Trophy V6 will be released very soon, and we started work on 2 more rF2 versions of some original WSGT2 cars. You can expect Prototype and Le Mans GT car previews soon.  Depending on the community response, we have planned a few more, but will decide when to do them later on.

As usual, all is well at RMT.

Il wsgt2 finalmente un mod di classe per rf2, gia' e' una gran notiziona!!

Con un lungo comunicato, torna a farsi sentire dopo un lungo silenzio il team RMT, per aggiornare gli appassionati di rFactor 2 e di Assetto Corsa sulla situazione riguardante l'attesissimo WSGT 2 Mod, ma purtroppo le notizie non sono affatto buone... In sostanza il modding team chiama a raccolta i fans, per riuscire a reclutare altri appassionati modders, in quanto il lavoro da fare per un progetto come il WSGT 2 è enorme ed impossibile da portare a termine per sole 4 persone!

 

Hi everyone, It has been a long time since we posted anything regarding our WSGT2 mod for… hmm, not sure. Back in 2008 we decided to create a follow up of our WSGT mod for GTR2. The WSGT2 was supposed to be released for ISI’s rFactor 1. Whilst being only a four member team we did set high standards. When in 2009 Image Space Incorporated introduced the upcoming rFactor 2, we decided to halt all work and wait for the rF2 Beta to arrive. This took a little longer than expected.

By the time the rF2 Beta was available, our personal lives had changed dramatically. To have a peek at rFactor 2 modding, we decided to take our old ( build in 2009) RMT Megane Trophy V6 model in-game and tried to get an idea of rFactor 2′s strengths and flaws. To be honest we where not that motivated or exited, but gave it a shot. During the development of the WSGT2 material, we ended up with gigabytes of material. We kept on testing the mod in rFactor 1, and while waiting for rFactor 2 the content grew.

In a perfect world, we would like to release part of the WSGT 2 material for rF2 and Assetto Corsa. That said, there is no such thing as a perfect world, meaning we are still debating what we will or can do.

Today we reached a point where we are discussing what the next step will be. For the moment we have a staggering amount of material, but have to be honest to admit that with the four of us and the time schedules we are running, it will be virtually impossible to release the full WSGT2 mod as planned. Even a few cars might become a problem with the current workload and free time. As friends, and as a Team we are now trying to come up with a few solutions.  One of those solutions would be bringing more members into RMT. Admittedly we have tried that in the past, and it became clear that this is not as easy as it might sound. Its very hard to find passionate and committed modding enthusiasts.

If someone out there would hear the calling, and would like to join our little team, feel free to contact us. The attached gallery (about 600 screens) and video’s show you a small amount of material we have created in the past few years. While some material is a good 5 years old, we feel it still comply’s to todays standards.  (Keep in mind that all videos are recorded in rFactor 1)

It would be a shame to let it all go to waste. So we are trying our best to come up with a solution that enables us to finish what we started.  Thanks for listening.

la sto aspettando da una vita questa mod, purtroppo io non ci capisco niente di grafica e non saprei dove mettere le mani. mi dispiace, speriamo che qualcuno si faccia avanti, sarebbe un vero peccato se questa mod andasse persa.
